Representatives of the diplomatic corps of the CIS countries, Georgia and Lithuania met with Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan Zhanseit Tuimebayev in the capital.

Giving the floor to the Ambassador of Ukraine to Kazakhstan Ivan Kuleba, Zhanseit Tuimebayev noted that now there are 300 thousand Ukrainians in the country, who make a significant contribution to the development of the country.

In his speech, the Ambassador said that Kazakhstan and Ukraine are connected not only by trade and economic, but also by humanitarian and cultural cooperation.

He noted that he visited the Friendship Houses in Almaty and Karaganda. According to him, they created all the conditions for the work of ethno-cultural centers.

The Ambassador of Ukraine also informed the Deputy Head of the Assembly about the development of mutual trade and economic relations between the two countries.

"After the introduction of restrictive measures, the growth of trade turnover has slightly decreased. However, I hope that this issue will be resolved and we will restore the potential. Perhaps we could involve people's diplomacy in this task," Ambassador of Ukraine said.

He added that in September it is planned to open a trading house "Ukraine-Asia", and before that there will be a business forum with the participation of Kazakh and Ukrainian entrepreneurs.

In conclusion, Ivan Kuleba noted the high activity of the Ukrainian ethnic group in the political and economic life of Kazakhstan and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation between the two countries.
