At L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University was held an international round table with participation of Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Kazakhstan on the theme: “Migration: new trends and directions”.

Dean of Social Sciences Faculty of ENU Baizhuman Kashkynbaev expressed interest in cooperation with international colleagues. At the moment, Department of Sociology is implementing a project in cooperation with the international organization United Nations Children's Fund UNICEF.

Deputy of Majilis, Chairman of “Rada of Ukrainians of Kazakhstan” Yu. Timosсhenko told about cooperation of Deputy group of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan with the departments of ENU.

Each ethnos is involved in the process of formation of ethnic, civil identification of Kazakhstan. Every people living in multinational Kazakhstan participates in the creation of our shared history, Ukrainians living in Kazakhstan more than three centuries make a worthy contribution to this historical record. The Ukrainian ethnos of Kazakhstan occupies one of the important places in the structure of our multinational society. The international festival of Ukrainian folk art is held in Kazakhstan to promote the culture, traditions and customs of Ukrainians, exchange of students between our countries on the basis of signed agreements, concerts, exhibitions of Ukrainian and Kazakh applied art, photo exhibitions, various forums are held at the centre of L.N. Gumilyov ENU. The presence of development stage of Assembly is characterized by the fact that the state national policy is aimed at the further integration of Kazakh society and formation of a single nation.

Members of the Deputy group are active in law-making, they consider law drafts that come to the lower house of Parliament, they relate to all spheres of life of the state and society. Today, the Parliament is working in the new regime. We invite representatives of NGO and experts to participate in the work on the draft laws to implement the instructions of the Head of state. Our ability to see the draft laws is expanding, we are engaged in a constructive dialogue at the meetings of working groups, we are looking for new approaches and solutions to the tasks.

The members of the Deputy group implement the task of the President that it is necessary to reach each person, to inform about the work plans, about the work done. The Assembly is not only an institution for inter-ethnic issues, it is the main driving force behind the idea of social harmony.

This is confirmed by the results of productive visits of the delegations of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan to more than 30 countries. Representatives of the political and business establishment, diplomats noted the active position of Kazakhstan and its leader in the field of interethnic and interreligious relations in Austria, Israel, Malaysia, the USA and other countries. Our country is seen as an example of successful and dynamic development in the Post-Soviet space abroad.

This is only part of what the state has done to strengthen stability and inter-ethnic harmony.

Today, Kazakhstan is involved in the circle of the global economic crisis, social and ethnic risks are growing. We see examples of this all over the world.

In this regard, we can admire forward-thinking attitude of the Head of state, who always offers a set of anti-crisis measures in advance. And these measures are not limited to the sphere of economy and social protection of the population, initially everything affects ideology.

The economy will inevitably find itself in a zone of political turbulence without social and political stability. Therefore, the task of strengthening the unity of the people of Kazakhstan is designated as the main priority of state policy.

The five social initiatives proposed by the President, announced Messages to the people of Kazakhstan always find a response from the members of the Assembly and is a guide to action.

The main emphasis in the tasks of the Head of state is made on the education of the younger generation. The validity of this statement of the problem is confirmed by the results of various ongoing monitoring and research. This is the education of the younger generation of Kazakhstan patriotism, love for their homeland, pride in their people, tolerance, rejection of all forms of extremism and xenophobia. For Kazakhstan, which is located at the crossroads of East and West, the regime of dialogue and civilizations, culture of peace and non-violence is the main condition of existence.

Today, ethno-cultural associations have intensified ties with historical homeland to attract unique ideas and projects in various fields to our country. The implementation of these projects has led to the creation of new work places and the development of international relations.  Industrialization is truly nationwide in scale and a matter for each citizen of Kazakhstan.

Time is all the more stringent requirements of countries and nations. Hope for the future of independent are only those who are focused on constant updating, to modernize, to strengthen the particular benefits. It is a matter of time. Modernization and competitiveness based on traditions are the basis for raising the national spirit. The work of the APK, the Deputy group is certainly not abstract, but very specific in this issue”, — concluded Yu. Timoschenko.

Director of Konrad Adenauer Foundation in the Republic of Kazakhstan Thomas Helm noted that the aspects of migration and integration are a common theme for Kazakhstan and Germany. He emphasized that two good neighbourly countries can share their experience, knowledge, recommendations at the same level.
