The traditional folk festival "Sabantui" took place on the summer ground of "Zhastar" Palace in the framework of the 25th anniversary of Tatar-Bashkir ethnocultural center "ТАN".

Sabantui is included in the list of intangible culture of UNESCO. The holiday has deep Turkic roots and calls the people to unity and commonwealth.

Capital citizens and guests of the capital were congratulated by the Head of the Secretariat of Nur-Sultan Lyazzat Kusainova, employees of the Russian Embassy and Tatarstan representation office.

"Sabantui" is a particularly venerated ancient holiday, which is passed down from generation to generation. From the festive stage the guests of honor addressed with words of greetings. Girls in national costumes treated the guests with the chak-chak holiday, while the national feast is the evidence of hospitality of the bread-bearing masters.

"Peace and friendship are the core of our lives, unity is the property of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. Therefore, the ethnic groups of the republic live in peace and harmony. We must protect our values" noted in her welcoming speech Head of Secretariat of capital’s Assembly of People of Kazakhstan Lyazzat Kusainova.

She read out the welcome address of the capital mayor Altay Kulginov on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Tatar-Bashkir ethnocultural center "ТАN". Chairman of the center Rafik Valiyev presented to the activists special breastplates for the 25th anniversary of the center from the mayor’s office and SAPK.

Pleasant minutes were delivered to the audience by Tatarstan artists, who performed with the musical program. Creative collectives of regional and capital Tatar-Bashkir ethnocultural centers also pleased the audience.

At the traditional holiday folk melodies were sounded and folk dances were performed. Competitions in national wrestling, arm wrestling and other sports were held. Funny folk games gave a special atmosphere to Sabantui. All the guests were treated to national treats. Everyone participated in folk games and competitions.

Gourmets highly appreciated the Tatar and Bashkir dishes and thanked them for their treats. In the course of the event the winners and especially distinguished participants of the festival received valuable gifts from the Secretariat of the capital's APK.
