Celebration of the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the period from July 25 – 28, 2016 the historical and cultural project was implemented in Almaty region – the "Conversations on the Silk Road." The organizer of this event was the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, Almaty region. Participation in the project was taken by prominent scientists, politicians and public figures, members of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, members of ethnic and cultural associations, Councils of public consent in the region and representatives of youth organizations.
The "Conversations on the Silk Road" project is aimed for the development and preservation of common cultural values and general historical, study and promotion of the heritage of the Silk Road, the education of the young in the spirit of patriotism and civic activity. However, the topic of discussion was the activity of the Councils of public consent created by the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan.
The project started on July 25 in Almaty, the participants then went to Kerbulak District, visiting memorial complex "Altyn Emel" after ChokanValikhanov. A tour to the museum, meetings with the staff of the museum and members of the public consent Shanhanayskiy rural district was organized.
In the afternoon the participants of the project went to Taldykorgan, where they visited Regional History Museum of M.Tynyshpaeva. The particular impression on the participants was laid by the exhibition department of our time, which reflects the life and work of the first President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Nursultan Nazarbayev. A special place in the museum was given to the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan.
Later the meeting was arranged together with a tour to the Museum of Literature named after I.Zhansugurov. The museum was opened in May 1984 and is timed to the 90th anniversary of the poet Ilyas Zhansugurov.
The next day, participants of the project "Conversations on the Silk Road" went to Sarkand District. In the building of akimat of the district center a meeting was held on the theme: "Conversation on the Silk Road", moderated by akim E.Koshanbekov.
The keynote speaker was the KSU director of the "House of Friendship - public consent Center" T.Kasymberkebaev. In his report, gave examples of the revival of the caravan route, such as the international transit corridor "Western Europe - Western China" dry port "Khorgos - Eastern Gate", which are implemented in Almaty region, and so important for the socio-economic development of the region. The chief specialist of the Secretariat of the Assembly S.Surabaldinova, elaborated on the activities of the Counsils of public consent, to the Assembly for charity. With sincere love and kindness the chairman of the Board of mothers Sarkand K.Kalieva area took a word.
Chairman of the Republican Turkmen ethno-cultural associations Annakulieva Gulnara Ataevna spoke on the role of the Silk Road in the history of Kazakhstan. In her speech, she said the project has existed for about 10 years because of the scientist-cultural studies and public figure – Murat Muhtarovich Auezov. She noted that the road was called "silk" because of the trade item. It was the caravan route providing constant exchange of universal achievements - new goods, knowledge and ideas. On the Silk Road, where East and West meet, Europe and Asia, was created a fertile ground for the interpenetration and mutual enrichment of such different cultures. Endless caravans brought not only goods, but also cultural patterns and standards in architecture, wall painting, arts and crafts, as well as dance and music, spectacular performances of different nations.
According to Gulnara Ataevna caravans went a long way, weary travelers, after long journey sat around the campfire conversating in an unhurried way about their experiences, about how impossible come true and, together sought answers to the eternal questions: how to live, who to be, what to strive for.
In Sarkand area the participants visited an ancient city "Koilyk". Archaeological research of the settlement began in 1964 under the direction of Karl Baypakov, then was laid out a series of pits, removing the settlement plan. In 1998, within the framework of the South Kazakhstan complex, an archaeological expedition excavated object, identified as a "Buddhist temple", and also studied the citadel fort. In 1999-2000, work was carried out on the so-called "rich man's manor", localized in the south-eastern part of the settlement. In 2001, it opened bath type "hammam", built of baked bricks, and explore the mausoleum, built on the territory of the settlement in the period of desolation. All the historical facts, excavated everyday objects and remains of the settlement suggests that this historic site belongs to an extraordinary civilization.
In 2013, the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan included the settlement Koilyk into the list of historical and cultural monuments of UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On the same day, all participants following the route of the project went to Alakol district. In the assembly hall of the akimat held a meeting with representatives of the public consent of the Council, members of ethnic and cultural associations and local youth. Later afternoon the participants of the project came to the village of Akshi and moved to a cozy hotel "Baiterek".
On July 27, on the base of the sanatorium was organized a "round table", discussing the topical issues of Kazakh society, the museum staff told about historical figures and facts, members of the public consent of the Council sharing their experiences in the field, youth representatives shared their impressions from the project of mutual exchange of views. Relaxed atmosphere pulled together all project participants.
On the shore of Lake Alakol, one can involuntarily feel the love for his native land and his people. Thus, filled with deep historical content project "Conversations on the Silk Way" reached its goal, played an important role in strengthening of friendship and inter-ethnic harmony in the region. Before leaving, all participants exchanged contacts, made memorable photographs, and were satisfied with the organization of this event. Some of them came together in the same opinion: the project "Conversations on the Silk Road" is necessary to society and should be continued.
