In the Akmola Regional Court, the chairman of the Judicial Board for Civil Cases, Yerlan Zhanadilov, conducted a training seminar on the topic "Application of Mediative Procedures in Restorative Justice".

Representatives of the Center for Development of Mediation, the International Human Rights Center, KGU "Kogamdyk Kelisim" with the Akim of the Akmola region, the regional branch of the "Nur Otan" party, the NPP "Atameken", prosecutors, lawyers, local executive bodies, state bodies, insurance companies, banking structures, as well as representatives of other organizations that apply mediation in their activities. The event was held with the aim of improving the practical skills of mediation application in restorative justice. Participants in the training seminar discussed the role of judges, prosecutors, mediators and lawyers in restorative justice. The seminar discussed the performance of judges and mediators on the proposed changes to the Law "On Mediation", led the discussion, expressed wishes for further development of mediation in the region.      

The seminar-training was delivered by the judges of the Akmola Regional Court Rosa Yertaeva on the topic "Problematic issues of mediation application", Beisembay Sarsenov "Mediation in criminal law". On the application of mediation in civil and criminal matters was made by the judge of Kokshetau City Court Didar Bayniyazov, regional director of the Center for the development of mediation Askar Amirzhanov told about the results of the pilot project of the Supreme Court for Mediation for 2017, deputy director of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken" in Akmola oblast Valentine Gerashchenko made a report on "Business issues in mediation."

Participants in the seminar exchanged views on the need to develop mediation and a participatory procedure in the region, calling for active work of akims, prosecutors, lawyers and mediators, as well as working with the population in rural districts and towns.
