MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AND SPECIAL AGENCIES

Since the first days of independence of our country the issue of strengthening the interethnic and inter-confessional accord has become for the government of Kazakhstan as a priority public policy objective.

A "round table" for the maintaining law in the sphere of interethnic and inter-confessional relations with representatives of regional law enforcement bodies and special agencies was held at "Kogamdyk Kelisim" SPI. The "round table" was attended by representatives of the Regional Department of Internal Affairs, the prosecutor's office, courts, and departments of internal policy, departments of religious affairs, youth, education and culture.

The guests heard the speech of representatives of the Administrative Police Office of the Regional DIA, Deputy Head of the Regional Local Police, the Judge of Taraz City Court No 2. They talked about the ongoing work on the maintaining law in the sphere of interethnic and inter-confessional relations.

"The Assembly of People of Kazakhstan is a unique socio-political institution that provides inter-ethnic interaction. Kazakh society today is a unique example of inter-ethnic and inter-confessional pluralism and tolerance, where representatives of 140 nationalities and 40 confessions live. Peace and tranquility, civil harmony, religious tolerance, equal participation of representatives of different cultures in society –these principles have formed the basis of our national policy for the years of independence and provided a distinctive feature of Kazakhstan in the world community", - said in his speech, the Judge of the City Court No 2 Nurlan Daulybayev.

During the event the participants discussed the importance of studying the problems of inter-ethnic and inter-confessional relations and training on state ethnic policy. A particular attention was paid to the organization for undertaking educational, scientific and organizational activities in the field. Following the meeting the need for different kinds of events, aimed at the education of the younger generation a sense of patriotism and strengthening interethnic and inter-confessional harmony was noted since the inter-ethnic harmony was impossible without inter-confessional dialogue.
