"MOTHERS FOR PEACE MARCH"

August 29, all over the Kazakhstan was launched the Republican campaign "Ak oramal" dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the closure of Semipalatinsk nuclear test site, initiated by the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in support to the Manifest "Peace. XXI Century ", voiced by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev at the IV Summit on Nuclear Security in Washington.

In the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk was organised within the framework of the republican citywide procession "Mothers March for Peace", which started from the Republic Square, Abai monument.

The event was opened by the Chairman of the APK Mothers Council of West Kazakhstan Beysekanova Myra Baymuhanovna emphasizing the importance of this action. "Today, near the monument to the great enlightener of Kazakh people - Abay we, the women, have gathered, to express support for our President, in the defense of peace and tranquility in our land."

Also, at the monument sight to Abai, children-winners of the "Abai readings" read verses and as a tribute to the great man, thinker and poet Abai laid flowers.

Later, the participants of the "March of Mothers" visited monument to Afghan veterans and soldiers killed during the Second World War, and the museum of victims memory of the political repression. Everywhere were heard the calls in support of the Leader of the Nation Nursultan Nazarbayev for a world without war and clear sky for peaceful childhood for our children.

At the end of the event an appeal of women of the East Kazakhstan region for the World was announced.

Also in Ust-Kamenogorsk city in the framework of "Ak oramal" campaign the couples received "bata" from the representatives of the NGO "Muslim Women of East Kazakhstan", with the presentation of the symbol "white scarf".

Regional Children and Youth Library conducted a number of activities: a literary lecture "Through the book to peace and harmony", a book exhibition "The symbol of spiritual purity" and press event "Ak zhaulykty asyl zhandar".

Children's home "Umit" on the basis of the "Royal Valley" health camp held an event in the format of a concert and entertainment sport events, the winners received a symbol of the event.

Center of social service "Ulba" held a flash mob with the participation of children and mothers and "a Center for Children and Family Support" held an information campaign "We are against terrorism."

Citywide the event was attended by more than 1,000 women.
