Tatar national holiday "Sabantui 2019" took place in Semey. Sabantui is a vivid expression of Tatars' love for the breadwinner - land and honest work. 

Guests and People's Artists fr om the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation came to Semey to celebrate Sabantui 2019 and performed with their musical performance.

Honorary citizens of the city also took part in the celebration. The program included a concert, sports competitions, Tatar folk games and contests: tug-of-war, arm wrestling, lifting weights, pole climbing and "Tatarcha Kuresh".

Sabantui 2019 was held on three sites. Residents and guests of the city could take part in the incendiary disco "Sabantui Party". In addition, Sabantui was also held on the city's embankment, wh ere people could see the exhibition "Sabantui's History - Past and Present" and the exhibition "Tatar House" with a demonstration of Tatar ethnos' rituals. The Work Out youth playground and Para-Power-Lifting also worked there. 

Chak-chak culinary competition was organized as well. The strongest and most enduring winner of "Tatarcha Kuresh" competition was awarded the main prize – a ram!

On the island of the city was organized a pilaf festival, which was prepared on the large cauldrons of the master of the business. A total of 500 kg was prepared.
