August 18-19, 2016, Astana, the Nazarbayev University Sports Complex held the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan Festival, "Olympic Summer – ''El Ruhy" under the motto "Sport for Peace and Reconciliation!" dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

August 18 at 11:00 am the square of Nazarbayev University will host the opening of the Festival of the ANC, "Olympic Summer - El Ruhy".

The event will be attended by Vice-President, the Head of the Secretariat of the ANC - Yeraly Tugzhanov, Majilis deputy, ANC members, government representatives and athletes from all regions of Kazakhstan, members of ethnic and cultural associations, youth.

Seven sports competitions are planned to be held during the event: Kazakh kuresi, toғyz kumalak, volleyball, table tennis, mini-football, arm wrestling (biathlon), taekwondo.

The sports festival will host teams from different regions of the republic, demonstrating representatives of ethno-cultural associations and sportsmen – ''Street Workout''.

The organizers and partners of the Festival:

• The Ministry for Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

• The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

• The Ministry of Information and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

The festival is dedicated to a significant event - the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for the first time it will be held under the auspices of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.

The aims and objectives of the festival is to promote the Olympic movement and spirit, promotion of healthy lifestyle, to support Olympic team of Kazakhstan on the 2016 Olympics in Rio. The demonstration of values ​​such as friendship, sportsmanship and respect. Popularization of traditional sports will deepen friendship and trust between the peoples of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The fesival will increase interest in the national sports.
