The Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District is a constituent entity of the Russian Federation that is part of the Tyumen Region. "Yamal" in the translation from the Nenets language means "the end of the earth". Indeed, this region is located in the Arctic, in the northern part of Western Siberia.

Yamal is an amazing region, combining modern infrastructure with traditional dwellings and occupations of indigenous people, an educated population developed in the conditions of globalization, but retaining its special culture, customs and way of life.

In view of the remoteness of this region, very few people know about Yamal, are interested in its life. Thanks to the organized project "Yamal Seasons", gradually people of different countries learn about the existence of such an unusual land with its unspeakable natural beauty, the people who preserved their special culture, history, language, traditions and customs.

November 15, 2017 in the conference hall of the North Kazakhstan Regional Universal Scientific Library named after S. Mukanov the Presentation of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug in the city of Petropavlovsk took place. This is the final event of the large-scale project "Yamal Seasons". The purpose of this project is to develop cooperation in the field of culture and art, and also contributes to the creation of new projects aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations between the border regions of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In the role of the organizers by the Department of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, the akimat of North-Kazakhstan region, Regional Universal Scientific Library named after S.Mukanov, as well as representation of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District in the Kurgan region.

Before the event, a book-illustrative exhibition "Yamal Seasons in Kazakhstan", a photo exhibition "Yamal. Peace. Arctic. People.". In addition, an extensive exhibition of paintings by the People's Artist of the Russian Federation Herman Travnikov, whose works are exhibited in the regional museum of fine arts.

Elena Rudovskaya, Deputy Head of the Representative Office of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug in the Kurgan Region of the Russian Federation expressed her gratitude for the assistance in organizing the event as part of the project. She noted that a long friendship with Northern Kazakhstan, especially in the field of culture and art, ties them together. "Our cultural exchanges contribute to the lasting strengthening of friendly relations between our peoples and even countries". So, on behalf of the Department of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, letters of thanks and memorable gifts were handed to the management of culture, archives and documentation, the regional historical and regional museum, the regional universal scientific library named after S. Mukanov, the assembly of the people of Kazakhstan of the North Kazakhstan region .

During the meeting, the head of the secretariat of the North Kazakhstan regional assembly of the people of Kazakhstan Nail Salimov:

"We live in an era of change and interesting events. More recently held Russian-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum with the participation of President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Vladimira Vladimirovicha Putina. Within the framework of the Forum, a similar event was announced in 2018 in the city of Petropavlovsk. This speaks of the strong friendly relations of our countries".

In addition, Nail Salimov noted that the meeting within the framework of the humanitarian and cultural action "Russia and Kazakhstan - the two wings of eternal friendship" has a positive impact on the development of culture, mutual enrichment of the peoples of the two countries.

At the end of the event, Konstantin Yamzin and Irina Yun sang songs in the Nenets language using national instruments. The hall listened to the compositions with pleasure, meeting and escorting artists with stormy applause.

After the event, everyone could enjoy the traditional dishes of the Nenets folk cuisine, which pleased all tasters.

The event was attended by representatives of the creative intelligentsia and the public of Petropavlovsk, members of the regional assembly of the people of Kazakhstan, employees of libraries, museums, teachers and students of the colleges, the North Kazakhstan State University named after M.Kozybayev, the public, the media.
