Speech:

Dear Nursultan Abishevich!

My name is Ruslan Idrisov, I am a journalist of the “Khabar” agency, a descendant of Chechen immigrants.

Like everyone else, I read your article "Looking to the Future: Modernizing Public Consciousness" in one breath.

Nursultan Abishevich, it is a tremendously profound program for the all-round self-improvement of the society.

As a journalist, I started looking for analogues and remembered that colossal effect, which for Americans was the speech of President Linkoln, dedicated to the renewal of the country.

This speech changed America, it became a historic step towards rallying the American nation.

I particularly like your idea of an open mind.

Indeed, we should not, as you said, "close in the home". We must clearly understand - what is happening in the big world, what is happening in our part of the planet.

As a journalist, I saw it with my own eyes - in Syria and Afghanistan.

And today, I want to say about what has remained behind the scenes of my reports from the hot spots.

And there remains - a clear understanding that our Kazakhstan is God's given example, a great lesson of peace and good.

At the beginning of the year, we with operator Kanat Abildin visited Syria - in Homs - a provincial town, 90% destroyed during the fighting.

I met a man who was once a successful businessman. Today he sells household chemicals on a ruined street. And he does not have any buyers. He sits like a living symbol of hope for peace, for the future, for life.

Such a life as we have with you.

We were in Tartus, where refugees came from Damascus, Palmyra and Aleppo.

Seeing the suffering of these people, you start to appreciate our prosperous reality in a special way.

Also, the mention of Kazakhstan in Syria or Afghanistan caused genuine gratitude to the local residents.

Dear Nursultan Abishevich! Ordinary people cried and said that they cannot imagine that in peaceful Kazakhstan, where everything is stable, they know about their tragedy, they try to help.

I convey the words of their enormous gratitude for humanitarian assistance.

Our bread is their life!

And I am proud that our Kazakhstan - does not ask anyone, but generously shares it.

That's why, it was so important - to us all! - read in your article, Nursultan Abishevich, and hear today - your idea of strengthening the identity, your task is to become a nation of strong and responsible people.

Dear participants of the session!

I, like every Chechen, have their own history of respect for the Kazakh people.

When I brought for my grandmother in Chechnya, photos of the new Astana, she burst into tears!

These were tears of pride, gratitude and joy for our country.

Chechens treat the Kazakhs in a special way.

With warmth and kindness they remember how they lived here themselves, as they were visiting.

And immediately they show the "Kazakh house" - with a large portrait of the President of Kazakhstan.

Such kind attitude of Chechens cannot be bought for anything in the world!

That is why for many of us, Kazakhstan is "Native land", and we carry spiritual relics of Kazakhstan in our hearts.

I am deeply convinced: many Chechens, and not only them, will come to Kazakhstan to pay their filial debt to our country and its people!

Thank you!
