On the 21-st of May this year was held the national holiday of “Sabantuy” of the Tatar ethno-cultural association "Vatan" in the city park of culture and recreation. This holiday has turned into a traditional celebration that unites representatives of different ethnic groups living in our city/ The festival introduces the long-standing traditions of the Tatar ethnos, demonstrates interethnic friendship celebrated 11 years in a row.

Basically, “Sabantuy” is a family, uniting all ethnic groups, giving joy, and most importantly - forming a friendship and mutual understanding among the people.

The ceremonial event was opened by the head of the secretariat of the regional assembly of the people of Kazakhstan, Lyalya Tureshova, congratulating all those present with the holiday. "Today we celebrate the “Sabantuy” holiday for the 11-th time. This holiday, which calls for peace and friendship, respect for customs and traditions, as well as the holidays of all ethnic groups, occupies a special place for us. Therefore, I congratulate all of you with a glorious holiday!" she said.

In turn, the chairman of the Tatar ethno-cultural association Galiya Gizatullina expressed her great gratitude to the head of the regional assembly of the people of Kazakhstan, Lyayla Behalievna, for directing the good events, provided constant support by presenting the Letter of Gratitude. After the award, the head of the regional secretariat performed the ceremony, "Potting a Pot".

In turn, the chairman of the Tatar ethno-cultural association Galiya Gizatullina expressed her great gratitude to the head of the regional assembly of the people of Kazakhstan, Lyayle Behalievna, for directing the good events, provided constant support, and handed thanks letters of the plenipotentiary representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in Kazakhstan, R.F. Valiullova to the head of the secretariat of the regional assembly of the people of Kazakhstan L.Tureshova, the director of KSU "Public contracts" U.Ibrayev and the deputy directors of KSU "Public contracts" A.Zhumabaeva and R.Akhmetova. After the awarding ceremony, the director of KSU "Public contracts" performed the ritual "Broken Pot".

Special guests from the Republic of Tatarstan made speeches at the solemn event. The singer Kiram Satiev performed beautiful songs for the audience. And Iskandir Biktagirov played on accordion, showing his art to the local population. Also, here was presented an exhibition-fair of products made by Tatar craftsmen. The national games of the Tatar ethnos – “Tatarcha kurash”, tug of war, lifting weights, hand wrestling and many other sports games were organized at the festival. The townspeople who came to the “Sabantuy” looked at the concert, participated in the festive games. Tatar songs were performed, raising the mood of the Tatar dances. It should be noted that the winners in the games were awarded with special gifts, and all children had the opportunity to ride for free on the train and frolic on the trampoline.
