In Astana on July 11, within the framework of the program of presentation of the Kazakhstan model of public accord and national unity of N. Nazarbayev and the International Specialized Exhibition EXPO-2017, a folklore festival "Volksfest-2017" was held.

The event was held at the Russian State Academic Drama Theater. M. Gorky. The organizer was the Association of Public Associations of Germans of Kazakhstan "Revival".

The opening ceremony of the festival was attended by the Commissioner of the Federal Government for Migrants and National Minorities, Bundestag deputy Hartmut Koshik, deputy chairman of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan Mynbay DK, members of the ANC, representatives of state bodies, ethnocultural associations, residents and guests of the capital.

One of the most important events for the Germans of Kazakhstan, the Volksfest festival is held with the goals of preserving the unique, distinctive culture of ethnic Germans and the German language at the national and international levels, spreading the idea of ​​spiritual unity, peoples' friendship and interethnic harmony, and developing creative cooperation.

The representative of the Federal Government for Migrants and National Minorities, Bundestag deputy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Hartmut Koshik, spoke about aspects of the work of the Kazakh-German intergovernmental commission with the participation of the Association of German Public Associations of Kazakhstan "Revival" - a structure representing the interests of Kazakhstani Germans at the state level.

The German ethnos in Kazakhstan is the seventh largest among the other ethnic groups living in the territory of our republic. The Germans of Kazakhstan are the bridge connecting Kazakhstan and Germany. A huge role in this is played by the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, which is doing a great job to preserve and develop ties with the historical homelands of the ethnic groups living in our country.

Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan Mynbay DK Thanking the guests in his welcoming speech, said: "At such events we can show continuity, a rich cultural heritage that we must pass on to future generations." He also added that one of the main directions of work of the Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan is not only the preservation, but also the development of the national culture, traditions and language of the ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan.

During the event, residents and guests of the capital had the opportunity to see a bright and rich concert and entertainment program. The peculiarity of the festival "Volksfest - 2017" is its folkloric orientation. Vocal and choreographic performances in the program of the festival were filled with inimitable national color, temperament and unique character of the performance. The festive concert allowed everyone to touch the German culture.

To strengthen international relations, cultural exchange and support of land relations within the framework of the celebrations, guests from Germany were invited to participate in the festival program.

The event was truly a theatrical action, in which creative collectives of Astana, as well as collectives from Pavlodar, Rudniy, Karaganda took part. All of them could please the audience with traditional German songs and dances. Songs in Kazakh and Russian were also performed at the concert.

The main objectives of this event are to strengthen stability and interethnic accord, demonstrate the achievements of the Kazakhstan model of intercultural dialogue, develop interest and respect for the cultural traditions and customs of the ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan, position Kazakhstan as a country with a unique historical and cultural heritage, recognized by the world Community.
