Our country is a true island of stability in the ocean of the global shocks, the maelstrom of civil conflict, and political crises storm. The representatives of 130 ethnic groups live in Kazakhstan in peace and harmony and bear common responsibility for the fate of our country. For our country to be free and prosperous it is necessary there will be peace on earth and no war. Kazakhstan pays great attention to the preservation of national traditions and language development. Here, everyone feels comfortable and each have equal rights and opportunities for self-realization.

In Mangistau Region 0.9 percent of inhabitants are representatives of Ukrainian ethnic group. Today, they contribute to strengthening the unity and solidarity.

In the framework of the 25^th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan the Ukrainian Ethno-Cultural Association named after T.G. Shevchenko organized a festive concert "Vechornytsi" in the House of Friendship. Participants performed folk songs and dances and read patriotic independence poems.

"In the old days, wishing wells, welfare, health, happiness, peace, Kazakhs said:" Let your shanyrak will be high!". This symbol speaks of the unity of our people, the desire for peace, the high thoughts and, of course, it is wish of peace to all people. And we were willing that people of many nationalities would live together as one family under the blue sky, generous sun as native shanyrak, glorifying our country and homeland - Kazakhstan", - said Lesnichenko Tatiana Stepanovna, Deputy Chairman of the Ethno-Cultural Association named after T.G. Shevchenko.

In addition, there was an exhibition of paintings and handicrafts.
