In Taraz and in all cities and districts of Zhambyl region, were held a festive folk festivals "Under a single Shanyrak", dedicated to the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan on the 1-st of May. These events were organized by the secretariat of the assembly of the people of Kazakhstan in the region, KSU "Public contracts" of the mayor of Zhambyl region, ethno-cultural associations, ANC structures and the youth league "White sails".

On the site of the "House of Friendship" were opened exhibitions of folk handicrafts "City of Masters" and "World of Sweets". Hundreds of participants of the festival competed in such folk sports, "Tajik wrestling", "Get on the pillar, take prizes", "Fighting on the pillows" and "Catch the stallion."Most participants and spectators were attracted by a competition in which men performed squats with a huge live sheep on their shoulders. And those who prefer to sing and dance showed their skills at competitions "Best congratulations", "National dances". All the winners of the competitions were awarded valuable prizes.

The mayor of the region, the chairman of the regional assembly of the people of Kazakhstan Karim Kokrekbayev and his deputies visited the folk festivals: ethno-cities, where ECO demonstrated folk traditions and rituals, products of national cuisines. The square named after Zhambyl turned into a huge auditorium, where folk groups and artists of the Philharmonic performed on the stage. Among the participants of the fascinating event were foreign guests. The artists of the circus group Alchikenovs pleased the audience with interesting numbers and tricks. On the territory of the historical and cultural center "Ancient Taraz" adults played their favorite songs in karaoke, and children painted with paint on canvas paintings dedicated to the Day of Unity of the people of Kazakhstan.

Unity, friendship, kindness. Here are three words that sounded like the motto of the 1-st of May. The Regional Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan held another charity event. On the site of the House of Friendship, donations were collected for the treatment of Aymuzhan Doszhan, suffering from an oncological disease. The festivities, which were attended by more than three thousand citizens, lasted noon.
