August 30 is an important date for the whole of Kazakhstan, on this day was adopted the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This year the celebration of Constitution Day in Ust-Kamenogorsk was marked by another big event - the return of our Olympians. In the airport arrived the participants of the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro – Olga Rypakova, Ekaterina Smirnova, Denis Ulanov, Evgeniya Labutova, Irina Smolnikova and Elina Mihina. City residents greeted athletes with flowers and applause. A number of residents, among whom were members of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan region, the chairmen and activists of ethno-cultural associations, sports groups of the city, as well as close relatives and supporters of our champions came to greet the champions.

A festival in honor of the Constitution Day was held at the Republic Square, which brought together representatives of leading companies, banks, universities and colleges of the city. By tradition, the event was opened with the state symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan and national anthem. Akim of East Kazakhstan region Danial Akhmetov congratulated the citizens, noting in his speech: "This day is one of the most important for all of Kazakhstan, in peace and harmony under a single shanyrak, for 25 years live representatives of more than 130 ethnic groups in Kazakhstan." Danial Akhmetov congratulated Olympians who showed good results at the Olympics in Rio 2016, Olga Rypakova was granted the keys for a new car and a certificate for 50 thousand dollars, Denis Ulanov was presented with the keys for two-bedroom apartment and annual gratuity from akim of all the participants of the Olympics in Rio.

The event was marked variuos folk festivals, sports and all kinds of exhibitions and competitions. On the stage to amuse Ust-Kamenogorsk citizens were creative teams and ethno-cultural associations, including the ensemble "Ladushki" known not only in our region, but also far beyond the borders of our Republic, the vocal group "Toradi", Korean ethnocultural association and other honored collectives and performers.
