START OF THE PROJECT "CONVERSATIONS ON THE SILK ROAD"

September 23, 2016 at the House of Friendship in Almaty the international cultural project "Conversations on the Silk Road" was launched, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Central Asia: solidarity and consent of the peoples of the region."

The project is held annually since 2007 with the participation of the Central Asian region, in the form of an open, trusting conversation to strengthen comprehensive ties between the countries and peoples of Central Asia, and general historical preservation of common cultural values ​​in the context of intercultural dialogue.

Project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and Akimat of Almaty region.

The event was attended by prominent public figures of the Republic of Kazakhstan, international experts and diplomats from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, South Korea and Japan, members of the scientific and expert community of the APK, the representatives of ethno-cultural associations, youth and media.

Kalashnikov N.P., director of RSU «Kogamdyk kelesim» under the President of RK has opened the event.

Welcoming remarks were made by Pitalenko L.N., Deputy President of the APK.

Presentations were made by M. Auezov, director of "Conversations on the Silk Road" international project, a cultural, social activist, Mirzoyev K.I., chairman of the "Barbang" Kurdish Association of Kazakhstan, Baipakov K.M., Doctor of Historical Sciences, archaeologist.

Upon completion of the start, the event will continue in Kerbulak District of Taldykorgan and Almaty region. The project participants will become familiar with the history of the route of the Silk Road and visit the historic area Zheldykara (Hill "Genghis Khan"), will meet with the faculty and students of Zhetysu State University named after I.Zhansugurov. Actions "Tagzym" and "Tendessiz syi" ( "a priceless gift") will be held. A plenary meeting of the "Central Asia: solidarity and consent of the peoples of the region" and a panel discussion on "The role of the" Conversations on the Silk Road "in the formation of cultural space and identity in Central Asia: Challenges and Prospects" will also take place.
