2017 December 1 for the military unit №2016 Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan Atyrau region - a significant day as the day of the First President coincides with an important event for this part: 19 years ago, December 1, 1998 for the protection of the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan was established Atyrau border detachment.

From that day, the duties of the servicemen included protecting the territorial administrative border of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the Russian Federation, providing security at the border control posts.

The total length of the border guarded by military unit No. 2016 is 1145 km, 713 km of which passes through the Caspian Sea, 360 km overland, and 72 km pass through the Kigach River. During these years, the Atyrau Frontier Unit achieved high results.

2017 November 30 in the House of Friendship of the city of Atyrau, together with members of ethno-cultural associations, held a solemn event on a double holiday. The event began with the video "Face of the Epoch" about the First President of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev and about the history of the military unit. The commander of the unit congratulated his colleagues on the significant double holiday and awarded the border guards who achieved positive results in their combat service.

In turn, the head of KGU "Kogamdyk kelisim" of the apparatus of akim of Atyrau region T. Aman-Turlin congratulated all participants of the event and presented the book "Ethnoses of Atyrau" to the museum of the military unit.

The event was continued by the concert program of ethnocultural associations and officers of the training center.
