Since 2010 the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia, the World Armenian Congress and the Union of Armenians of Russia have being conducted a contest "For notable contribution to the preservation of Armenian identity" among the nation living outside of their historical homeland, and promoting their culture, traditions and customs. The award ceremony was held in November at the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia, where the Martirosyan’s family, who had come especially for that from Kostanay in Yerevan, was awarded the third prize in the nomination "The traditional Armenian family".

- “For us it is a great honor, given that Armenians from around the world take part in a contest, there is a large selection among the applicants, - the Deputy Chairman of the "Erebuni" Armenian Community of Kostanay Region Hrachuhi Gevorgyan says. - Our family since the early days is at the origin of the Armenian Ethno-Cultural Center. My son Hrach is a leader of "Miasin" Youth Movement (Branch), and the daughter Gayane is an activist of this Movement. She not only sings, but also teaches dance, moderates the author's program on regional television. Hrach is a permanent host of all events, showman, and member of the Club of the Funny and Inventive.

It should be noted that due to the ongoing ethnic policy we have in Kazakhstan all ethnic groups as we have the opportunity to develop their culture and language.

We submitted a collection of materials on our work and photos to the contest, but did not think that we would win. The third place was a great and pleasant surprise for us! Living in Kazakhstan, we do not forget our origins, we strive to develop and promote our culture to other ethnic groups. By the way, while we were in Yerevan, Gayane received an offer from director Philippe Boghossian to star in a feature film, which she gladly accepted.

The correct choice of the organizers of the contest was noted by the Chairman of "Erebuni" Community of Kostanay Region, Tigran Badalyan.

- “The Martirosyan’s family is worthy of such attention. They are considered to be the "heart" of the Community, keep up all traditions symbolizing the Armenian family, raise children as Armenians of merit and actively participate in the Community life, coming to help with any questions”.

The Martirosyan’s family told of their victory on Pre-New Year's Children's Matinee held at the House of Friendship, which brought together representatives of "Erebuni" Community. The concert consisted of songs, dances, giving away sweet gifts and souvenirs which went to every guest of the holiday.
