November 7, 2017 in the Taraz State University named after M.H. Dulati held the South-regional scientific and methodological conference "Transition of the Kazakh language into Latin script - the main factor of Kazakhstan's integration into the world community", organized by the Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan in Zhambyl region.

The event is aimed at promoting the approved Kazakh alphabet on the Latin script by the decree No. 569 of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on October 27, 2017. The aim of the conference is to preserve the languages ​​of the multiethnic environment of students and expand the scope of the state language as a particularly important factor in strengthening Kazakhstan's identity and unity. The conference was attended by members of the assembly of the people of Kazakhstan in Zhambyl region, experts in the field of linguistics - philologists and linguists, teaching staff and students Targu, representatives of regional media.

Opening the conference, the first pro-rector of TarGU named after M.H. Dulati, doctor of historical sciences, professor Askar Abdualy dwelled on the importance of this step: "N.Nazarbayev in his article" Looking into the future: modernization of public consciousness "noted that the transition to the Latin alphabet is based on deep historical logic. This is due to the peculiarities of the modern technological environment, communications, as well as the educational process of the 21st century. Thus, in conditions of globalization, the transition to the Latin alphabet is a historical necessity and a fundamental tool in the spiritual revival of Kazakhstan's society".

During the discussion of the draft single standard in connection with the introduction of the Latin alphabet, urgent issues of the Kazakh language were raised. The conference participants paid special attention to important aspects of the Latin alphabet: a detailed analysis of grammatology between letters and sounds, an analysis of the alphabet and new spelling rules in the content of training. One of the active members of the working group on transition to the Latin alphabet, the chief researcher of the Institute of Linguistics named after A.Baitursynov the city of Almaty Almahan Zhunisbekov gave a presentation on the phonetic basis of the transition to the Latin alphabet.

Rector of the University "Bolashak", professor of technical sciences Omirbek Umbetov spoke about the possibilities of new technologies in the introduction of the Kazakh alphabet into the Latin script: "The transition to the Latin alphabet is a demand of the time. This is an entrance into the space of the world civilization of the Kazakh language, expansion of its scope and new geopolitical conditions of scientific and technical progress".

Deputy Chairman of the Scientific and Expert Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan in Zhambyl oblast, Candidate of Philosophy Parid Mamedov: "The transition to the Latin alphabet promotes the prosperity and comprehensive development of our country and will bear fruit in the future. This will give us the opportunity to identify all the sound systems of our language and will get rid of unnecessary embedded words. Therefore, the transition to the Latin script is a very important step for us, for our future".

What are the methods of teaching citizens of the Kazakh language in a new form? This urgent issue was discussed during the conference "Transition of the Kazakh language into Latin script - the main factor of Kazakhstan's integration into the world community". In addition, the participants expressed their suggestions on the methodological foundations of training, stressed the timeliness and progressiveness of the introduction of a single standard for Latin graphics, which is intended to serve as a tool to enhance the global competitiveness of the nation.
