September 29, 2017 in the House of Friendship of the city of Almaty a festival was held on the theme "Matbyat tohpikarliri" ("Baspasoz yleskerleri"), organized by the Republican Cultural Center of Uighurs of Kazakhstan.

The event was held in order to implement the project "Baspasoz yleskerleri" to support and develop Uyghur journalism in Kazakhstan. It was attended by leaders and activists of republican, regional, city and district ethno-cultural associations, representatives of ethno-intellectuals, intellectuals, and youth, totaling more than 100 people.

Within the framework of the festival an exhibition of journalistic activities of the project participants was presented, presentations of newspapers and magazines, radio and television were also held, reports on topical issues in the field of journalism were heard. The festival continued with a concert program for guests and participants.

In the end, there was a solemn ceremony of awarding the project participants with the presentation of letters of commendation and memorable gifts.
