Visit to the Polish Sunday School

September 6, 2017 with a state visit to Astana, the President of Poland Andrzej Duda and his wife Agatha Kornhauser-Duda arrived. The visit of the Polish president is timed to the week of Poland, which takes place at the international specialized exhibition EXPO-2017.

Within the framework of the visit, the spouse of the President of the Republic of Poland visited the gymnasium No. 5 of the city of Astana, on the basis of which the Polish Sunday school operates.

Students of the Sunday school greeted a guest and a Polish delegation in national Polish suits. During the event, a presentation of the Polish cabinet named after F.Shopen was held, where an interesting conversation with the students of the Polish Sunday school was held. Ms Agata Kornhauser-Duda is a teacher by education, so she became interested in the education system in Kazakhstan. Director of Gymnasium No. 5 Trufanov AS, Chairman of the Polish Society of Astana "Rolas" Rogovskaya EA and the director of the Polish Sunday school Malinovskaya M.V. told about the activities of the Sunday school.

"I am very glad to visit the Sunday school, which is far from Poland where the Polish language is taught, and I am glad that it is studied by children of not only Polish descent, but also of other nationalities," said Mrs. Agatha Kornhauser-Duda.

The Polish Sunday School is focused on teaching Polish language, literature and folklore. "There are 12 Sunday schools in 24 ethnocultural associations in Astana, one of the best Sunday schools of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan is the Polish Sunday School, which annually trains more than 50 children," noted LS Kusainova, head of the secretariat of the People's Assembly of Astana.

The holiday continued in the assembly hall. Students of the gymnasium performed patriotic songs in Polish and Kazakh languages.
