In the assembly hall was an interesting holiday - the first Advent. The organizers were the Pavlodar Oblast Society of Germans "Revival". Christmas is the most important festival. Preparation for him begins a month before the celebration.

A characteristic feature of Christmas in Germany is that all Germans adore creating with the help of figures of people and animals various religious scenes. All these figures are carefully stored in families and even inherited. The holiday of Christmas begins already for 4 weeks, this time at Germans is called "Advent". The period from the 1st to the 24th of December is called "Advent Time" - this is the time before Christmas Eve, from Latin the word "Advent" means "waiting, coming." This means expecting the coming of Jesus Christ into the world on the first day of Christmas.

The colors of this time are green and red. Even the ancient Germans exhibited in the dwellings evergreens to protect themselves from evil spirits and demons. This custom has survived to this day. On cold winter nights, green color represented a hope for strength and comfort, and red meant the joy of the birth of Christ.

A good tradition in the public association "Pavlodar Oblast Society of Germans" Revival" was the meeting of the First Advent with members of society, small and large, with luxurious bows and strict hairstyles. Lighting candles in a friendly community: a feeling of unity, anticipation of a beautiful holiday with the smell of pine needles, mandarins, cinnamon and unforgettable thrill of waiting for the Christmas miracle - these inexpressible emotions filled the hearts of all those gathered in the hall.

Members of the association Christina Barvikh and Olga Shultz in detail told all the guests about the canons of the holiday, singing songs. Traditionally, on this holiday, children write notes to Father Frost or Vainakhtsman about their dreams, or gifts that they would like to receive as a gift.

In Germany, on the night of the 5th to the 6th of December, children wear polished boots or boots for the front door, then parents put presents in them. Also poems of famous poets about this precarious time, Advent time, prepared by participants of the German language courses, were heard.

Deputy Chairperson of the Pavlodar Oblast Society of Germans "Revival" Litnevskaya Olga Vladimirovna congratulated all spectators with the first Advent and wished every house comfort, warmth and kindness. Then she held a ceremony of lighting a candle on a wreath, then it was continued by others, as each table had a wreath with a candle. Then, at the end of the holiday, everyone was singing Christmas songs.
