The festive concert was organized by the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan of Astana and dedicated to the day of languages of Kazakhstan.

With the aim of cultivating love and respect for the native language and country and to enhance the knowledge about the languages, traditions of different nationalities, 20 years ago the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a Decree on the celebration of Day of languages of people of Kazakhstan.

Last year, the government decided to postpone this holiday from the third Sunday to September 5. It is the birthday of the outstanding literary critic and linguist, developer of scientific terminology for the definition of Kazakh grammar Akhmet Baitursynov.

According to the organizers, such events demonstrate the level of the capital’s ethno-cultural associations and the creative potential of folk groups improving from year to year. At the same time in the foyer of the theater a fair of products of arts and crafts of ethno-cultural associations was organized.

Deputy Chairman of the Republican youth movement “Zhangyru zholy”, head of the youth organization “Zharasym” Timur Jumurbayev welcomed the participants and noted that “representatives of more than 130 ethnoses live in peace and consent in Kazakhstan. All of them can study own culture, traditions and customs. Also, the country has Sunday language schools, national academic theatres, editions in native languages”, — he said, wishing peace, stability, prosperity, happiness and prosperity to all.

The concert programme was attended by creative teams of almost all ethnic and cultural centres of the capital. Their performance included songs and poems both in native and Kazakh languages, which is an important factor in the consolidation of all Kazakhstan citizens.
