Yesterday in the concert hall of the Schoolchildren's Palace a concert of the public association "Ethnic and Cultural Association of Koreans of Astana" was held, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Koreans living in Kazakhstan.

The event is aimed at attracting public attention to the activities of the capital's ethno-cultural centers and strengthening inter-ethnic relations.

Representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Korean Cultural Center, members of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, prominent public figures, leaders of ethno-cultural organizations and residents of the capital took part in the festive event.

Over the years, the public association has made a significant contribution to the strengthening of inter-ethnic harmony in the capital.

The participants of the festival had the opportunity to see the rich concert and entertaining program with participation of creative collectives OO «ethnocultural association of Koreans in Astana". Vocal, instrumental and choreographic performances were filled with inimitable national color and unique character of performance. The drum show and singing of the "Chen Ryu" folk choir delighted all the guests present. Excellent performance of songs in the Kazakh language, bright national dances with fans and lanterns caused a storm of applause in the hall. The audience was also shown the traditional Korean ceremony "wedding ceremony". Did not leave indifferent the present and the performance of young students of judo. This holiday allowed to see the multifaceted creativity of the Korean ethnos.

In the 30s, more than 200,000 Koreans of the Far East were deported to Kazakhstan. Now more than 100 thousand Koreans live in Kazakhstan, in the capital - 5900 people.
