A seminar on interethnic and intercultural mediation was held at KSU "Kokamdyk kelіsim" under the akimat of Astana city

On June 14-15, 2017, in the conference hall of KSU "Kokamdyk kelіsim", the international mediator trainer Dronzina T.A. Held a seminar on interethnic and intercultural mediation.

The professor of political science started the seminar with the animation film "Conflict", after viewing the participants expressed their opinion.

"Conflict is an inseparable part of our life, an inseparable part of the attitude of people, groups and states. We should look at the conflict as a normal product of diversity in values ​​and beliefs, in attitudes and perceptions, in the competitive interests of individuals, social classes, ethnic groups and states, "the coach-mediator noted at the beginning of her speech. Participants together tried to define this concept, and look for the answer to the question: why does conflict arise?

Professor Dronsina TA Clarified - than mediation is not, acquainted with the advantages of mediation in comparison with the trial, and also determined the situations in which it is applicable. "The purpose of mediation is to find a joint mutually satisfactory solution to a certain conflict. Mediation helps to find a way for each other while preserving their national identity, "the professor noted.

During the first day of the event, the seminar participants actively discussed ways of settling and transforming conflicts, and considered examples of their resolution.

The present mediators in the process of a live dialogue touched upon the conflict situation on the territory of Kazakhstan. Mediators - participants came to a common opinion that they solve mainly labor and interpersonal conflicts, the source of which are mainly household problems.

The Council of Mediation under the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan plays an invaluable role in the settlement and formation of tolerant inter-ethnic relations. ANC - this unique institution for today is the main mediator in the sphere of public relations of ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan.

Within the framework of the seminar, there was an exit, expert meeting on the topic "School mediation: problems and perspectives". Dronzina TA, international mediator-trainer, delivered a presentation on "Resolution of interethnic conflicts in school". Foreign and Kazakh scientists, representatives of ethno-cultural associations, teachers of capital schools, employees of state institutions, etc. took part in the open dialogue. Professor of Political Science, academician of the International Informatization Academy Kalashnikova NP, in her speech noted that in Kazakhstan it is necessary to strengthen the development of mediation in schools and higher educational institutions.

The next day the seminar continued with a discussion of the practice of applying procedures for interethnic mediation, further topics were discussed: negotiation skills in the intercultural environment, mediator behavior in interethnic communication with video tracking of mediators, discussion of their achievements and mistakes, family mediation, etc.

In the process of teaching, the lecturer used a variety of information material: slideshows, cases. Attention of the participants was emphasized on the practice of mediation, the coach-mediator was presented with author's cases taken from the Kazakh reality, cases from life practice created by the author on the basis of the press and conversations with eyewitnesses. The demonstration of the cases aroused a lively interest, and continued the seminar with practical questions and answers from the work activities of the seminar participants.

Dronzina TA, international expert at the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, concluded that the joint work of practitioners should be translated into the specific cases, to search for additional unifying factors that help resolve problems and disputes in a civilized way.

Based on the results of the seminar on interethnic and intercultural mediation, the participants were awarded certificates. The meeting of participants of the seminar promoted the further strengthening of intercultural cooperation.
