Traditional bicycle race "Tauelsizdik - tіregіm" in Taraz was devoted to 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Bike race started on the square "Dostyk" and the route ran through the main streets of the regional center to the international airport "Aulie-Ata".

The event was attended by over 700 people. Among the participants were akim of the region Karim Kokrekbaev, his deputies, akims of districts, law enforcement and judicial bodies, regional administrations and institutions, enterprises and organizations of the city, workers of KSE "Kogamdyk kelіsіm" akim apparatus, university students and all interested in the event people. Among the participants was the silver medalist of the Olympic Games in Rio Eldos Smetov.

In his opening speech K. Kokrekbaev noted that citizens were excited waiting for this event. "In the city there are all conditions to be engaged in mass sports. Our victories make us happy together with our Olympic champions, "- said Akim of the region.

Workers of KSE "Kogamdyk kelіsіm" and representatives of ethno-cultural associations of the Kazakh "Eulie-Ata", Tatar-Bashkir "Ainura" and Turkish "Akhyska" Kenzhebek Omirbekov, Erbol Kanshimbekov, Temurbek Khodzhaev, Rinalia Rahmatullin and Alikhan Akhmetov shared their impressions with fans and colleagues after the bike race. "Sport plays an important role in our lives and we are always happy to participate in such competitions," said methodist of KSE "Kogamdyk kelіsіm", akim apparatus – Kenzhebek Omirbekov.
