In 1937, Koreans became the first ethnic diaspora massively deported to Kazakhstan. June 3, 1990, the Association of Koreans of Kazakhstan (AKK) was founded, which makes a great contribution to the preservation of the cultural heritage of the Korean diaspora of the republic.

In 2017, 80 years of Koreans' life in Kazakhstan will be celebrated. This date was dedicated to the event organized by the Aktobe branch of the Association of Koreans of Kazakhstan with the support of the Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan of the Aktyubinsk region and KGU "Kogamdyk kelіsim".

Congratulatory rechyu of akim of the region gave the head of the secretariat of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan Aktobe region Barbosynov Nurbakyt Kusainovich.

In his speech he noted:

"Among the 1.5 million ethnic immigrant groups in Kazakhstan was the Korean diaspora. Of these, 1165 were deported to the territories of the districts of Khromtau and Aiteke bi. Thanks to patience and unity you were able to overcome difficult times together with the Kazakh people. Today, the Korean ethnos is an integral part of the region, its representatives make an invaluable contribution to the economic, social and scientific spheres of Kazakhstan".

The honor of the veterans, the witnesses of those hard and bitter events, as well as the awarding of valuable gifts started with the words of the chairman of the branch of the Association of Koreans of Kazakhstan Konstantin Valentinovich Tskhai - "Despite all the difficulties and deprivations of those years, the Kazakh people accomplished a real feat, the price of which is the life of many thousands immigrants. The magnanimity and charity of the Kazakhs were recognized by all the peoples who found their Motherland in the Kazakh land"

Especially to congratulate the Aktyubinsk Korean diaspora came our countrywoman, who began her career in our Korean ensemble in the 90's. Soloist of the Korean State Academic Theater, laureate of international competitions Yugay Angelina.

In honor of the 80th anniversary of residing in Kazakhstan, the Korean diaspora organized a festive concert.
