COUNTRY OF TOLERANCE

Russian ethno-cultural association of Zhambyl region, "Russian Center" summed up the results of the social project "Organization of measures to strengthen inter-ethnic harmony in the region."

"By implementing the project, we conducted a series of events - opening the final hearing. Since the topic of strengthening inter-ethnic harmony is very important for our multi-ethnic region and state as a whole, we conducted its work not only in the regional center, but also in the regions. During the project, the main event was the action "Our strength lies in unity", which covered five areas - Merke, Zhambyl, Sarysu, Baizak and Kordai. These are the places of compact residence of the Turkish, Dungan and Kurdish ethnic groups. Started action in Merke district and ended - in Zhambyl. The villagers joyfully greeted the representatives of the center took part in the events held by us, talked about his life, culture, traditions and relationships between people of different ethnic groups. It should be noted that the ethnic situation in those areas consistently friendly. Representatives of different ethnic groups, not only co-exist peacefully, but support each other. However, going on the occasion, they observe their own traditions and customs tolerant of others. With representatives of the Russian center they shared their achievements, not hiding the difficulties and peasant life," says the head of center Elena Gorbunova.

In Masanchi village of Korday district an elderly resident Eldar Gulzirov appealed to us. He was interested in the purpose of our visit and after he learned about our mission, he told us about his multicultural family.

As noted at the final meeting, during the project was also held a competition for the best poster on the social networks. Its theme - "A nation united future" had interested about a hundred Zhambyl residents of different ages from seven to 61-year. After selection of the best works, the jury of the center determined the winners, which at the regional conference were awarded with diplomas and valuable gifts.

During the event, were also heard a presentation by the NGO "Association of Koreans of Zhambyl region "Koryo" Nadezhda Kim and social activist, director of Zhambyl branch of the International antinuclear movement "Nevada-Semipalatinsk" Raisa Ryskulbekova. They told the audience about the activities of their associations and stressed the importance of the work carried out by the NGO "Russian center".
