Day of Memory

May 31 is a day of remembrance of one of the most tragic pages in the history of Kazakhstan - mass political repressions and appalling famine, which resulted in the death of millions of people. In memory of the numerous victims in our country, many events are held, exhibitions in museums are opened, flowers are placed on memorials, and new data are published. We do this not only out of respect for the memory of the victims of repression and hunger, but also for those terrible days never to happen again.

In Petropavlovsk, flowers laying at the stele in the name of the fallen. Residents of the city gathered to honor the memory of innocent convicted people, their relatives and outstanding figures of the country. Secretary of the regional maslikhat Vladimir Bubenko in his speech remembered public figures, the creative elite and many who contributed to the development of their homeland, but was subject to a tough policy of that time.
