On 11^th December 2016 the Ukrainian Ethno-Cultural Association of Atyrau Region "Dovira" organized a "Day of Ukrainian culture" at the Friendship House.

The event was attended by Head of the Regional Secretariat of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan Shakirova Gulmira Muslimovna, the members of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, government representatives, leaders and members of ethnic and cultural associations, residents and the media.

The Chairman of "Dovira" Ukrainian Ethno-Cultural Association Olga Pavlenko delivering the welcome speech noted the big contribution of Ukrainians in the strengthening of friendship, peace and harmony among ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan. "And it's all thanks to a balanced, wise and far-sighted policy of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev, who created the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan at the dawn of independence of Kazakhstan", - she said.

Having congratulated those present she handed diplomas and valuable prizes to members of the Ukrainian Ethno-Cultural Association.

The Head of "Kogamdyk Kelisim" MPI Amanturlina T.U. in her congratulatory speech said: "This event confirms that all ethnic and cultural associations living in Kazakhstan have the opportunity to develop their culture, customs, traditions, and language. These opportunities demonstrate the level of Kazakhstan's unity and identity".

The soloist of "Hutoryanka" Ensemble, winner of national and international festivals and competitions Paul Salynin opened the evening of Ukrainian song by the lyrical works of the Great Abay "Kozimnin Karasy" and continued by Ukrainian folk songs. "Hutoryanka" Ensemble gave the concerted numbers in the gala evening. The duo of Alain and Darya Petrova having mastered the technique of the game on kobyz perfectly performed Kazakh folk kui.

"Dovira" Ukrainian Ethno-Cultural Association actively participates in activities aimed at strengthening inter-ethnic relations and the development of friendship among peoples and is engaged in charitable events to help veterans, and low-income citizens.
