The National Holiday of Independence of Poland is a Polish national holiday, celebrated on November 11 in memory of the independence of the Polish kingdom in 1918. Like any state, the path to gaining independence for Poland was long and thorny. Being a part of other states, having survived wars, revolts, changes in the ruling "top", the Polish people were able to preserve their traditions and customs, the culture of the ethnos, a unique language and history.

Regional Polish Cultural Center "Copernic" is pursuing a consistent and purposeful work to promote the culture of the Polish ethnic group, instilling patriotic values of youth, respect for elders, love for his people and homeland.

One of the traditional events held by the Polish cultural center is the celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Poland. In 2017 it was held on November 18 for members OPKTs "Copernic", representatives of the Catholic Church, cadets, students of Polish language.

The event began with the welcome speech of the chairman of the public association "North Kazakhstan regional Polish Cultural Center "Copernic" Anatoliya Krashevskogo. He congratulated all participants of the event on the holiday, wished health, prosperity, peace, family happiness and coziness in the house.

As part of the event, the teacher of the Polish language A. Wirtel spoke about the exhibition presented to the audience: "Heroes of Poland".

A concert program was organized by the teacher of the Polish branch of the secondary school-complex of national revival №17 Marina Tyabus, during which the students presented dances, choreographic preparations, songs, poems, mini-scenes, as well as a documentary animated film "The Unconquered".

In the second part of the event, the "Oxford debate" on the topic "Without influence of the Catholic Church, Poland would not have received Independence", thanks to which the audience remembered the bright historical events, soaked with the spirit of patriotism and endless love for their ancestors.

At the end of the event, photosession and tasting of Polish national cookery products are organized for all participants.
