"Devoted to the creators of Russian writing ..."

On the 24-th of May, the world day celebrates the day of Slavic writing and culture. The history of the holiday goes to the far tenth (according to some information - the eleventh) century of the new era. This day was then called the Day of Saints Cyril and Methodius, who became the authors of the alphabet.

The Russian community of the Akmola region also celebrates the festival of Slavic writing and culture every year. This year, an event in the Palace of Public Consent opened the folk ensemble "Russian Song" with the song "Bells". According to the head of the ensemble Zoya Avilova, the choice of the song is not accidental, because the “Bell” is the symbol of this holiday.

Priest Valery Anferov congratulated those present on the occasion and noted that the writing created by St.Cyril and Methodius opened the way to enlightenment, the development of literature and art. This holiday reminds us of our common cultural space, customs and traditions.

The event continued with a pleasant moment - rewarding the winners of the Olympiads in the Russian language and teachers-philologists of the Akmola region.

A concert program, prepared by students and teachers of Kokshetau schools, struck with its repertoire and variety! Vocal folklore numbers, ensemble of spoon-balls, dance of bright dances conquered the hearts of all spectators, and their applause was a vivid confirmation of this.

Manat Ismagulov, the deputy head of KSU "Public contracts" noted that language and culture are the basis of statehood, and called for preserving language and cultural and spiritual heritage.

Chairman of the Russian community of Akmola region Alexander Artemenko congratulated with the holiday and wished everyone to remember their history, culture, literature, preserve continuity and create new things.
