October 14, 2016 at 16.00 hours at the National Gallery "Astana" will be opening of the exhibition of decorative and applied arts of Kazakhstan "The legacy of the Great Steppe" and master classes on the felt and jewelery. The exhibition is timed to the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The purpose of this event is to promote the arts and crafts of Kazakhstan, promotion of national heritage and cultural and spiritual education of the younger generation of Kazakhstan.

The origins of folk arts and crafts of the Kazakhs go back for centuries; it has its own history and its own way of development. Kazakh people are the direct heir and successor of the great ancient culture, preserved in the vast expanse of the Great Steppe.

In folk crafts of the Kazakhs in the past prevailed felting, leather processing, wood and pottery. Just a special place in the national arts and crafts occupies metal products - jewelry, glassware, etc.

The exposition of the exhibition will be exhibited works of leather, wood, bone, just felt products and jewelry masters of decorative and applied arts of Kazakhstan.

During the exhibition, guests will be organized master classes for different types of arts and crafts.
