December 9, 2017 in the House of Friendship of Almaty hosted the Festival "History and customs of the people of Kazakhstan", dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Within the framework of the event, a festive table was laid and a concert program was prepared, at which creative collectives of ethno-cultural associations performed.

The solemn event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan Hamedov Abilfas Muslimovich, Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in Almaty Mamsurov Kazbek Vladimirovich, heads of republican and urban ethno-cultural associations, management and employees of KGU "Kogamdyk kelіsim" of the apparatus of akim of Almaty city, representatives of mass media, as well as youth.

The event began with an opening speech by Hamedov Abilfas Muslimovich, who congratulated those present on the upcoming holiday, noted the huge achievements of Kazakhstan achieved since gaining independence and wished further prosperity to the country and its people.

Then the floor was given to the leaders of the republican and urban ethno-cultural associations, who in turn thanked the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbaev for preserving and multiplying the peace and accord in the country.

Then the concert program began, in which singers, dancers and other creative groups of different nationalities performed before the guests. It is worth noting that this day in the House of Friendship of Almaty was the atmosphere of a holiday, joy, friendship and unity.
