October 24, 2017 in the House of Friendship hosted the festival "Traditions of my family" among ethno-cultural associations living in the Zhambyl region.

This event was held with the aim of strengthening the family institution in our society and fostering respect for family traditions among the younger generation.

The family is not just a component of our society - it is its support and foundation. At the present stage of development of our state, we need new ideas and approaches to solving the problem of raising the status of the family, changing the way people think about marriage, and increasing interest in family policy issues.

Why do we need to study family traditions? The urgency of this problem lies in the fact that the study and promotion of family traditions of ethnoses living in our region, the study of the genealogy contribute to closer communication of family members, and parents and grandparents will be assistants in the research of children. Such work develops interest in the history of their ancestors, promotes the strengthening of spiritual values, raises the cultural level.

A word for the opening of the festival was given to the head of KGU "Kogamdyk kelіsim" of the apparatus of Akim of Zhambyl region Rano Ubaidullaeva and the chairman of the Council of Mothers of APK of Zhambyl region Mukhabat Mirazhapova.

6 families from 6 ethno-cultural associations took part in the festival: Russo, Dungan, Karachay-Balkar, Korean, Ukrainian and Uzbek. The main requirement for families participating in the festival "Traditions of My Family" is to show artfully the traditional rite of their ethnic group. At the first stage of the "Business Card" each family told about its peculiarities and customs. And in the second stage, the teams had to demonstrate a traditional people's rite such as matchmaking, visiting a young father-in-law's home or something else. Stage "Talented family" showed which of the families is most gifted in singing and dancing.

According to the results of all the stages, the first place was taken by the Kan-Pak-Hegai family from Korean ECO "Kore". The second place was awarded to the Mashanlo family from the Dungan ECO "Vynhua". And the top three were completed by the Klimenko family from the Ukrainian ECO "Dnepro". At the end of the event, the winners and all participants were awarded with the appropriate diplomas and valuable gifts.
