Sabantuy (holiday plow) is a Tatar holiday of labor and friendship, which has more than a thousand-year history. Traditionally it was conducted after field work. At present, it marks their end with a merry celebration, on which national songs and dances, comic competitions and sports competitions do not subside. The Tatar people managed not only to preserve, but also to enrich this beautiful tradition, therefore Sabantuy was included in the list of masterpieces of UNESCO cultural heritage.

June 24 this year in the House of Friendship hosted a traditional holiday "Sabantoy" on the topic "Birligi zharasan bytaқ elim." This year, Sabantoy is special. The festive holiday fell for the time of the international exhibition "EXPO-2017". Also, a festive event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the regional Tatar-Bashkir center "Tu'an Ttel".

The holiday is organized by the regional Tatar-Bashkir center on the initiative of the regional "House of Friendship - Center for Public Accord" and the Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan in the Almaty region.

The deputy akim of the region Omar Zhaksylyk Mukashevich took part in the event and he congratulated all the residents of the region on the holiday of labor and friendship, and also handed out letters of thanks from the regional akim to the activists, for the significant contribution to the preservation and development of the Tatar culture, for many years of work for the benefit of Kazakhstan society. Within the framework of the event, the chairman of the Tatar cultural center "Tugan tel" Ibragimov Khairulla Abdulvahitovich.

Within the framework of the festival, a concert of honorary guests who came to the holiday from the Republic of Tatarstan, soloists of the first ensemble "Kazan Egetyar" duet "Arthur and Marat" was organized, national games-competitions ("Water transfer on the rocker", "Carrying eggs in a spoon" , "Diving in ayran" for the prize, "Pillar", "Tatarcha kurish - Struggle on the Belt", "Tug-of-war", "Giri", rope tweaking, wrestling on bags, etc.).

Today, Sabantuy symbolizes not only the original sense of celebrating the end of the spring tribulation, but also a symbol of friendship among peoples, interethnic harmony, peace, diligence and hospitality.
