140 years ago, the Dungans were relocated from China to the territory of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The Kyrgyz Republic and the Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan maintain fraternal and good-neighborly relations to this day. Joint efforts of the Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan held large-scale events.

On December 12, 2017 the assembly of the people of Kazakhstan in Zhambyl region together with the Kyrgyz Republic in the village of Masanchi of Kordai district held a meeting with regional ethno-cultural associations on the theme "Kazakhstan is a country of friendship and accord".

The main purpose of the meeting - is to strengthen the friendship and mutual understanding, peace and harmony between the brotherly peoples, formed over the centuries.

At the opening of the event, a specialist of the Secretariat of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan of the Zhambyl region, U.K. Babakulova, director of KПU "Koпamdyk kelisim" of the apparatus of akim R.M. Ubaidullaeva, akim of the rural Masanchi district I. Yuburov, chairmen and members of regional ethno-cultural associations, President of the Dungan Association of the Kyrgyz Republic, K.L. Handzheza, active members of the association and representatives of the youth wing of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The President of the Dungan Association from the neighboring Republic stressed the importance of the two countries' meeting in strengthening friendship between the fraternal peoples and for the development of peace and harmony called for the next meeting on the land of Kyrgyzstan.

Guests from Kyrgyzstan received valuable gifts on behalf of the Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan in the Zhambyl region.

Within the framework of this event, the Day of Culture of the rural district of Masanchi marked the day of the Dungan ethnos of the Zhambyl region, as well as an exhibition of national values of the Dungan, Uygur, Balkarian ethnos. In the course of his speech, the founder of the Dungang Association of Kazakhstan, Low I.Yu. touched upon the rigorous moments of the Dungan resettlement and the history of the creation of the rural district of Masanchi. According to him, more than 18 thousand people live in the village, during the years of independence the population has doubled. In 1978, the first kurultay Dungans in the village of Masanchi.

Within the framework of the meeting on behalf of the head of the secretariat of the Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan in Zhambyl region M. Kozhayeva, members of the "Association of Dungan Cultural Centers of Zhambyl Oblast "Vinhua" were awarded with letters of thanks for their contribution to the work of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, in strengthening peace and harmony.

President of the "Association of Dungan Cultural Centers of Zhambyl Oblast "Vinhua" Izmazov Ruslan awarded active members of public associations with letters of thanks.

The solemn event was crowned with a concert program with the participation of the vocal ensembles "Singing Hearts", "Chun Tian", "Neighbors" and the "Yunchi" group, the "Ukilim" dance group, singers of the Taraz city cultural center, and singers from Kyrgyzstan.
