The delegation of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan headed by the Deputy Chairman – Head of the Secretariat of the APK Leonid Prokopenko took part in the interregional forum “Multinational Russia. Strategy and development”, held in Ivanovo of the Russian Federation.

Topical issues of interethnic relations, as well as prospects for socio-economic cooperation were discussed on the forum organized by the Federal Agency on Nationalities Affiars, Assembly of people of Russia and Kazakh-Russian Friendship Association. On this day the atmosphere in the House of Nationalities of Ivanovo was especially solemn. Many delegates of the forum were in colourful national costumes – because the region is ethnically diverse. 

Welcoming the participants of the forum, Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan said that Kazakhstan and Russia are a vivid example of trust and friendship between people. We are connected by centuries-old history and strategic partnership.

L. Prokopenko emphasized that the inexhaustible source of good neighborliness were, are and remain millions of Kazakhs in Russia and millions of Russians in Kazakhstan:

- Each of them is a living thread of brotherhood, connecting the past, present and future of our people, the pledge of our eternal friendship.

He also recalled the joint projects on search for soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War and preservation of their names in the memory of the people and other historical facts:

- A memorial complex was restored in Rzhev, Tver region at the initiative of Kazakhstan, where the memory of 10 thousand Kazakh soldiers who died in Rzhev battle was commemorated. Kazakhstan divisions began to defend Moscow in tragic 41^st year.

The forum participants were presented the Kazakh model of social peace and national unity of N.A. Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan's experience in harmonization of interethnic relations was provided as well.

The Russian party noted the effectiveness of the national policy in Kazakhstan.

Deputy Prime Minister of Ivanovo region Evgeny Nesterov said that the topic of interethnic relations is very delicate, so you need a special art to avoid interethnic conflicts, for example, so that people living in the same space, not just tolerate each other but experienced mutual friendly feelings.

-To put it simply, we have been living together for a long time. People got acquainted, have common tasks. They studied together, got married, so in this regard, we have a good situation, — Evgeny Nesterov said.

True unity is always formed around common particular cases, people and interests. A good example of cooperation is the activity of the entrepreneur from Ivanovo, Chairman of Kazakh-Russian Friendship Association Aizhan Tuzelbekova. In 2016, she spoke at the session of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan. The head of the Association suggested to create a trade and logistics hub in Central Russia on the basis of the International Fund “Eurasian dialogue”, as well as a joint tourist cluster connecting “Golden ring of Russia” with the expanse of the first natural object of the World heritage – Saryarka.

In this regard, the plan of joint activities for 2018-2019 provides the creation of ethno-tourist friendship routes: “Pearls of Kazakhstan” (Astana – Burabay – Bayanaul – Katon-Karagay),"Silk road" (Almaty – Taraz – Shymkent – Turkestan) – “Golden ring of Russia” (Moscow, Vladimir, Suzdal, Ivanovo, Kostroma, Yaroslavl).

During the visit, members of the Kazakhstan delegation also met with representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Ivanovo, Yaroslavl, Kostroma and Vladimir regions. During the exchange of views, Deputy Chairman – head of the Secretariat of the APK Leonid Prokopenko told about the tourism, trade and economic potential of our Republic.

-Kazakhstan is one of the main trading partners of Ivanovo region. So, for the first five months of this year, the trade turnover between the countries amounted to more than 13 million us dollars, — Director of the Department of Economic Development and Trade of Ivanovo region Lyudmila Badak said.

 All conditions have been created for mutually beneficial partnership between our countries. Last year, Memorandum of cooperation was signed between Assembly of people of Kazakhstan and Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs of Russia. A joint action plan for 2018-2019 has been signed. There are meetings of entrepreneurs of Ivanovo region with representatives of the business community of Kazakhstan held on a regular basis. The administration of Ivanovo region and akims of Karaganda and Turkestan regions signed agreements on social, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation. This meeting will also serve to deepen of mutually beneficial relations and develop people's diplomacy between our countries.

Also, the delegation of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan together with representatives of the Kazakh Diaspora in Russia took part in V Folklore and gastronomic festival of national cuisines “Kuhon” (“КухонЪ”), where a generous Kazakh dastarkhan was presented and all participants of the festival were treated for free.

Traditional Kazakh dishes: beshbarmak, baursaks, pilaf, kumis, shubat, kurt, zhent and others made a big effect in the Russian outback.
