“KAZAKTANU” PROJECT IS DEVOTED ONE DAY IN A YOUTH CAMP OF THE APK

On the third day of the international youth camp in Almaty region under the auspices of the Republican Youth Movement “Zhangyru Zholy”, which coincided with the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an information and educational programme “Features of Kazakh hospitality” was held.

Chairman of the Republican Youth Movement “Zhangyru Zholy” Maksim Spotykay delivered congratulatory speech. He welcomed the participants of the international camp “Birlik” and congratulated on the important holiday for the country — Constitution Day of Kazakhstan.

In turn, the expert of the Secretariat of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan of Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Inara Rahimzade noted that “Today is the beginning of the future, which is prescribed by the Constitution. It is known that the Constitution defines three branches of power: executive, legislative and judicial. Each of these branches of government combines certain individuals and personalities. In each of you, we see a person, a leader who will show the policy and ideology obtained here in his or her place”.

The intense programme of the day was devoted to the scientific and educational project “Kazaktanu”, which is aimed at promoting the Kazakh culture, history, philosophy among all ethnic groups of Kazakhstan.

A master class on the construction of the Kazakh yurt was held by the chairman of “Azheler alkasy” Alia Bekbayeva. She told about the structure of the yurt, after which, everyone picked up the components of the yurt together and began to build it. All as one, listened to instructions on the correct installation of Kazakh housing, within an hour the eight-leaf (segiz kanatty) yurt was put ready, where the master class continued.

Guests of the youth camp learned more about the decoration and adornments of the Kazakh national dwellings. In addition, they were told about the features of its structure. It is known that the yurt fully meets the needs of the nomad because of its convenience and practicality. It is quick to install and easy to dismantle, also easy to remove by transport and on camels, horses. Felt coating is adapted to weather conditions and does not let rain, wind, cold go through and in summer heat it keeps the inside cool.

A master class was organized by artisans for a visual demonstration of handmade products made of leather, felt and wood in Kazakh national style. Those who wished could buy finished products and observe the process of their production, learn about the features and intricacies of working with these materials from the masters.

In the follow-up of the event, the youth took part in the lecture of the chief specialist of SAPK of Almaty region Saule Surabaldinova, which was held in the format of a game dialogue between the speaker and the audience. The theme of the lecture was “Circle without corners”: philosophical aspect”, it was aimed at revealing a deeper meaning of the structure and elements of the yurt.

“The yurt occupied a very important place in the culture of the Kazakh people. It is a centre, symbolizing a national cultural code. The yurt protects from external adversity. It is written about the yurt as the main dwelling of the nomad people that it is a reflection of the most important parameters of the ethnic consciousness of the Kazakh people. The yurt, as a circle, symbolizes the embodiment of the infinite and the finite, the boundless and the boundary, the eternal and the temporal. It is no accident that the Kazakh people nurtured the idea of “Mangilik el”, it grew out of our past, future, present. The national idea of eternity of people’s development means its constant self-renewal, self-development and self-improvement”, — chief specialist said.

"There is the expression “El kartaimaidy” (People don’t grow old). The deep roots of the past nourish its present, open the way to the future. Our President has repeatedly noted that the first condition for the modernization of a new type is the preservation of the ethnic culture of its own national code — unity, tolerance, mutual assistance, mutual support, freedom, breadth of views. But, first of all, it is rich age-old traditions which are impregnated with special spirit. If we return to the symbolic interpretation of the circle, it assumes the absence of angles, and in social space — the absence of rigid, irreconcilable, insoluble conflicts and contradictions. If philosophers say that without contradictions there is no development, contradictions should not lead to any mutual destruction. Social life is impossible without conflicts, but the ability to listen to everyone, to come to some consensus — this is the basis of our tolerance, the ability to live without conflict”, — Saule Surabaldinova said.

She also noted that life in society requires some concessions, adaptability from everyone, and it is called tolerance in the modern world. It has always existed in any society, but the need for it has increased many times in the last decade.

“There are many reasons for this, but the most important among them are: first — the increase of national consciousness and personal identity, which is positive, but complicates the relationship between them. The second is deepening, globalization, which brings unprecedented opportunities for the development of both individual countries and individuals. But, at the same time, confronts different cultures, norms and rules of behavior. The third is the clash of different values, opportunities and resources, which strengthens relations between countries and individuals. In these conditions, the need for tolerance is growing”, — the speaker explained.

According to her, tolerance exists and it has borders. Also, tolerance is necessary in relation to another culture, religion, representatives of another nationality. Tolerance is respect, acceptance, correct understanding of other cultures, ways of self-expression as the lecturer emphasized. At the same time, she quoted French philosopher-educator Voltaire, who said: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"

“Tolerance is also the harmony of diversity, it is a moral duty and a political and legal need, it is our virtue, which makes it possible to achieve peace, contributes to the replacement of the culture of war with the culture of peace. Tolerance is the basis of the Kazakh state, as Kazakhstan throughout its history was formed as a multi-religious and multi-ethnic state. Kazakh people passed the order to their children from generation to generation on the desire to strengthen friendly relations”, — chief specialist of the Secretariat of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan of Almaty region said.

She recalled the years when Kazakhstan became the Homeland for many deported people and despite the years of the great jute (hunger), the repression of intelligentsia, both educated people and ordinary people found the strength, sincerity to accept those who were without a homeland in this difficult time.

“According to the Pope, Kazakhstan can serve as an example of the future internal structure of any multi-religious society with a multi-ethnic composition of the population. Achievements in this area can be attributed to the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan, its regional offices and ethno-cultural centres, which are effective institutions of modern civil society in Kazakhstan. Respect for national and religious affiliation and the protection of individual rights is the most important principle of democratic governance in our country. The fact that the President is the guarantor of our Constitution, rights, freedoms, opportunities — it is another principle of our democracy”, — the lecturer explained.

In conclusion, she added that the circle without corners is the basis of mental tolerance of the Kazakh people, and all those who live in Kazakhstan.

“We have one past, one present, one future. The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev notes that tolerance is a behavioral norm, a completely natural principle of life in the behavior of people for the centuries-old culture of the Kazakh people. Probably, therefore, everyone born in Kazakhstan and resettled in this country, consider it their real home”, — concluded Saule Surabaldinova.

During the next lecture “The role of language in the formation of national exclusivity”, the participants learned a new method of studying the Kazakh language, or rather, from the writer, author of the book “Situational Kazakh” Kanat Tassibekov learned the features of the study of the state language, which are described in his three-volume collection.

The lecturer said that he learned the Kazakh language at the age of 50 thanks to his own method. But the main thing, as K. Tassibekov emphasized, it is to have respect and sympathy for the people and their culture, otherwise, all attempts (to learn the language – editor’s note) will not succeed. At the same time, he noted that the time of mastering the language depends on the desire and commitment of the person.

His technique given in three volumes contains a very simple and easy way to learn the Kazakh language. It should be noted that the author was awarded the prize “Til zhanashyry”. His book in 2013 entered the Top 100 books that influenced the self-consciousness of Kazakhstan and was in first place in sales in Kazakhstan.

As the speaker said, the basis of his technique is to repeat the right words for native speakers. For more visual use of this method, he asked the audience a situation in the form of a game in which it was necessary, for example, to say “Hello” to a friend, at the same time, it is necessary to freely express their surprise and emotions, but in the Kazakh language.

Talking about the methodology, the author noted that he offers to learn the language as follows. The specific facts of history, features of national mentality in books in a bright memorable form which are connected with language and examples of speech behavior for life situations are given: weddings, a funeral and others which are used in modern Kazakh language. In addition, the Kazakh correlations of well-known proverbs sayings, phraseological units of the Russian language to Russian-speaking reader are given as well.

“My technique is directed at your memorizing of speech patterns for every situation. Young people speak well (about the participants – editor’s note), as ready toastmasters, it is also worked out things” — said the lecturer.

He noted that we learn some expressions or poems for beautiful speech and to master the language, it is necessary to learn some specific expressions for different situations and use them in everyday life, whether it’s a friend's birthday, wedding and other.

“When you speak well in such situations and people listen to you — it inspires a person and he begins to add new words intuitively”, — Kanat Tassibekov explained.

In follow-up of the conversation with the audience, he told about the mobile application, which was developed on the first volume of the book “Situational Kazakh”, which can be downloaded and to start learning the Kazakh language by the new method.

“If you live in Kazakhstan and connect your destiny with it, the Kazakh language is not just a language you need to speak, it is also necessary for a career or taking a test. If you learn this language, you will understand the people”, — K. Tassibekov concluded.

After a series of lectures, the participants went to the field, where a kind of small village is located, where they had the opportunity to observe the process of cooking Kazakh national dishes and to participate in the cooking. Thus, the female half of the camp rolled the dough for baursaks, made kurt and various sweets, while the male half participated in the preparation of a traditional Kazakh dish from a sheep.

This event was organized for young people in the framework of the scientific and educational project “Kazaktanu” to get acquainted with the Kazakh culture, national cuisine and to bring representatives of different ethnic groups of Kazakhstan together.

As noted by Chairman of the Republican youth movement “Zhangyru zholy”, within the framework of the meeting held from 28th to 31st of August — two large events, international youth camp “Birlik” and summer school “100 new faces. How to become successful” are held.

“These two events are held under the auspices of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan and the newly-formed youth movement “Zhangyru zholy” under Assembly. Young people from all over Kazakhstan and delegation from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia take part in the big project. I think it is a serious international contacts for our youth wing, for the Assembly as a whole”, — Maksim Spotkay said.

He also explained that the main thing here is that the youth of the Assembly will have the opportunity to protect their projects, show their ideas and talk about them.

According to him, the staff of the Secretariat of the APK of Executive Office of the President of the Republiuc of Kazakhstan participate in the work of the camp and really worthy ideas of young people will be supported.

The Head of the youth movement said that the camp under the auspices of “Birlik” has become traditional and will be held annually.

“First, our main task is to introduce young people to each other. We recently created movement “Zhangyru zholy” under the Assembly. Today is the time to take stock. Young people will defend their projects and ideas, so I think it will be very productive for them”, — he said.

In addition, the speaker assured that in addition to this project (international youth camp – editor’s note) young people from the regions will be necessarily invited to other events: forums, meetings and others, as “the main youth backbone is in areas”, where the main work is carried out and it is very important that the regional leaders had the opportunity to communicate, get to know each other and exchange ideas.

Along with this, Chairman of the youth movement spoke about the important projects implemented during the work “Zhangyru zholy”. Thus, one of them is the forum “Youth synergy — energy of unity” held in Astana and Almaty. The workshop was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan, the winner of the project “100 new faces of Kazakhstan” Islambek Salzhanov, members of the APK, RYM “Zhangyru zholy", masters of applied art, authors of startup-projects, representatives of rural youth and ethno-cultural associations, youth non-governmental organizations, the media.

“One of the areas was IT, that is, digitalization. I believe that it is very important for the Assembly, the youth movement that we are engaged in support of the ethno-cultural component and our youth is actively involved in the implementation of the country-wide agenda, including the implementation of the programme of the President of Kazakhstan “Digital Kazakhstan”, — Maksim Spotkay said.

He emphasized that one of the achievements of “Zhangyru zholy” is the organization of a platform during this forum, where some projects were supported, including businessmen.

“We should continue such projects, to focus, to cover the entire spectrum and try to find a solution to the problems that concern young people today”, — the speaker concluded.
