From 2 to 6 October in the Republic of South Korea, the national holiday "Chusok" was celebrated. "Chusok" is considered one of the main Korean cultural treasures. This is a kind of "Thanksgiving Day", which is celebrated in the USA and is widely known all over the world.

Since this is a national holiday, which includes long distance trips throughout the republic, most businesses, many shops and restaurants these days do not work. A special feature of the holiday is the visit by the Koreans of the house of heads of families, which are usually beyond the features of large cities. This is a very traditional and family holiday. Foreigners who visit these Korean homes are not that many.

It turns out that foreigners are left to themselves in terms of looking for what you can do yourself at this time. What do students from Kazakhstan do in this period?

In Korea, there is a student tradition, when first-year students or members of certain student organizations come together and leave somewhere for nature, to get acquainted, to join the student life. Называются эти встречи MT (от Membership Training). Kazakhstani students, in turn, have their own Kazakhstani MT. A great tradition has formed that every Chusok, already 9 years in a row, the (Kazakhstan Students Association in Korea) organizes Kyriltai or KZ MT.

Every year Kyriltai is held in a new place, mostly outside large cities, in nature. This year the venue for the event was chosen extremely picturesque place near the town of Taian, located on the Yellow Sea, this is the West coast of Korea. This year, Kyriltai gathered 105 students from all over Korea and even China. At the same time among the participants of Kyriltaya there were students not only from Kazakhstan, but also from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Latvia, to whom we were very pleased.

After all, for us, Kazakhstan, it was natural, since the Republic of Kazakhstan is one of the most multinational countries around the world, where more than 130 different ethnic groups live. And Kazakhstani people from the early childhood have instilled respect for other cultures and nations, allowing us to be proud of our multinational diversity.

We are proud to say that we have the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan - the state body whose main task is the implementation of ethnopolitics, which encompasses the preservation in the republic of interethnic and inter-confessional consent, stability in society. From year to year, according to the initiatives of the APK, we are strengthening the ties between our country and the historical homelands of all ethnic groups living on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. And from 2016 on March 1st, it is customary to celebrate the "Day of Gratitude", celebrating our multinationality, sharing our culture and acquiring new knowledge from other cultures.

Our program included various games in teams, so that people could get acquainted, prepare for the evening performances, where each team represented a production or a dance-musical number. After the end of the speeches, the students chose what to do next in their own discretion. Some of the students stayed to dance in the main hall where MT was held. Others gathered outside the complex of the main event and sang songs to the guitar.

On the second day, also according to tradition, after breakfast and before departure, all collectively go to the sea, to the beach. Participants actively bathe, sing, take photos with their new and old friends, posting all the material on social networks under the hashtag #kzmt2017.

As it was mentioned earlier, Kyriltai, or MT - is an event that opens its doors not only to Kazakhs (or Kazakhstanis), but also to representatives of other nations interested in learning more about our country.

Chusok is a family holiday, widely celebrated in Korea, but mainly for Koreans. At that time Kyriltai is the same family, cheerful and spiritual holiday, but for a large Kazakhstani student family.
