A Pavlodar State University hosted a literary evening dedicated to the famous Kazakh writer Sultanmakhmut Toraigyrov.

Within the framework of the republican action "One country - one book", held in Kazakhstan since 2007 on the initiative of the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Library Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in 2017 the main book of the year for general reading is the works of the famous Kazakh poet , the writer Sultanmakhmut Toraigyrov.

A dazzling meteor flashed in the early twentieth century, Sultanmakhmut Toraigyrov left a truly indelible mark in the Kazakh culture. During his short life he created so many significant works and rightfully took an honorable place in the history of national culture. He vividly covered the topics of freedom, truth and justice. In his work he urged his native people to enlightenment, he was looking for ways of transformation, renewal of life. His works are included in the treasury of Kazakh literature.

The event attracted not indifferent to the literature and creativity of the famous writer. Students with great desire shared their favorite lines from his works, exchanged impressions of what he had read.

Kubyl Birlesbek analyzed the novel "Kamar sulu". Madina Tuleubekova read the work "Zhas zhurek", and Ulzhan Sabirkhan chose for performance the poem "Okip zhurgen zhastarga".

The librarian of the sector of Kazakh literature Zhursil Abildinova held a presentation of electronic books, gave a bibliographic review of literature, and also presented a book exhibition.

The participants of the evening noted that the choice of Toraigyrov's works is the main book of this year, this is also our holiday, because Pavlodar State University is not without reason named after this outstanding poet, public figure Sultanmakhmut Toraigyrov.
