On 13^th December 2016 a Round Table on the theme "Patriotism is the basis to strengthen national identity" dedicated to the 25^th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in the hall of the Republican House of Friendship in Almaty.

The purpose of the event is to preserve peace and social harmony between different ethnic groups, to assess the contribution of the Public Association of Romanian-Moldovans in the preservation of their culture, language, customs and traditions.

The event was attended by heads of national and urban Ethno-Cultural Associations, members of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, staff of Support Service of the House of Friendship in Almaty, Secretariat of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan in Almaty, and the public representatives.

The welcoming speech was delivered by the Chairman of the "Association of Romanian-Moldovan of Kazakhstan" in Almaty Yegeldiyeva Tamara Nikolayevna. She noted that the original sense of patriotism shpuld be developed on love and respect for state symbols. “This is a solid foundation of the nation and provides the basis for a healthy patriotism of all citizens, patriotism, which elevates and gives each person a lot of positive emotions and energy for the development of the country” – she said.

The next speaker was the Chairman of the "Association of Romanian-Moldovan of Kazakhstan" NGO Vasiliyev Vladimir Alexeyevich. He congratulated everyone on the 25^th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan, noting that it was important holiday for all of us. It was significant because our country had achieved a great deal in such a short historical period. We went up to the 25^th anniversary of Independence as strong, free democratic state, which had become home to people of many nations and faiths.

There were delivered addresses by the Chairman of "Nairi" Association of Armenian Cultural Centers of the Republic of Kazakhstan" Karapetyan Artush Misropovich, the Deputy Chairman of the NGO "Akhyska" Turkish National Center" Kassimov Kazakhbay Tashtemirovich, the Chairman of the Jewish Center Baron Alexander Iosifovich, the Chairman of "Barbang" Association of Kurds of Kazakhstan" NGO Mirzoyev Knyaz Ibrahimovich, the Chairman of "Vashil" Ingush Cultural Center" NGO Ozdoyev Sultan Mazhitovich, the Chairman of the Council of Mothers of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan in Almaty Niyazova Nuriya Ismagilovna, and Chairman of the Turkmen Socio-Cultural Center Annakuliyeva Gulnara Atayevna.
