In the Karaganda regional museum of local lore and history, the opening of the photo exhibition "KOREANS OF KAZAKHSTAN" dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Koreans' stay in Kazakhstan, as well as the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea was held.

The event was organized by the Korean Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea with the support of the ethnocultural association of Koreans of the Karaganda region.

Before the opening of the exhibition visitors were met Suhorang and Bandabi - mascots Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2018 in South Korea g.Phenchhan. The youth of the ethnocultural association promoted the Olympic movement, acquainted guests with the sports included in the winter games program, as well as with the sports facilities of the Winter Olympics. A pleasant surprise for the participants of the exhibition were prepared gifts by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea - books with photos of the photojournalist Kim Jisoka, performed in a gift version, as well as souvenirs with symbols of the forthcoming Olympiad. Karaganda people were happy to take pictures with the talismans of games against the backdrop of a beautiful photo zone, presenting themselves in the Republic of Korea.

After the reception, organized by the activist of the center Elizaveta Afanasyevna Kim (restaurant "At Petrovich") the solemn opening of the exhibition took place. A welcoming speech was given by the director of the Korean Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Lee Heran: "The photo exhibition features works by Korean photographer Kim Dzhinsok, depicting the daily life of the current generation of Koreans, whose ancestors were deported to Kazakhstan in 1937 as a result of the Soviet policy of forced relocation. The beginning of this photo project initiated by the Korean Cultural Center was made as early as the summer of 2016, when Kim Dzhinsok arrived in Kazakhstan to prepare photographic materials about the lives of Koreans living in Kazakhstan on the eve of the mentioned dates.

In his works the author captures the life of representatives of the Korean ethnos from such cities as Ushtobe, Kyzylorda, Almaty and Astana. In addition to portraits from the life of ethnic Koreans, Kim Dzhinsok works show the views of modern Kazakhstan: urban landscapes, natural landscapes and the lives of ordinary people". She thanked the chairman of the ethnocultural association of Koreans of the Karaganda region Kim Liliya Mikhailovna,as well as the director of the Karaganda regional museum of history and local lore Nurmaganbetov Erzhan Nurlanovich for assistance in the implementation of the project.

Erzhan Nurmaganbetov noted the high level of organization of the exhibition preparation, as well as the great work carried out by the ethnocultural association in Karaganda.

Lilia Kim thanked the Embassy of the Republic of Korea for the systemic events in the city. This acquaintance with the game on traditional national instruments, works of Korean artists, festivals of Korean cinema and again a new project-photo exhibition.

Having traveled the world a lot, the author of the photos Kim Dzhinsok visited such places as hiking routes "Olle" on the island of Chedzhu in Korea, the pilgrimage road El Camino de Santiago in Spain, the Himalayas in Nepal, the French-Swiss MonBlan, and the whole of Paris. During his travels, he tried to capture "the most beautiful moments of people's lives" around the world. His works of art depicting these beautiful moments, shot at a perfectly matched time, were exhibited and published in the Republic of Korea. The photographer likes personal "close contacts" with people. He likes to listen to their stories, thereby catching these very "moments". In addition to the above, he also worked in the film industry, creating press photos and posters, and also taught and lectured in accredited photo programs, including at universities in Korea. Currently he works as a photographer in the administration of the President of the Republic of Korea "Chonhvade".

Karaganda residents learned with curiosity and delight about the life of the Koreans of Kazakhstan and said goodbye that the meetings should be repeated.
