On October 2, 2017, the capital assembly of the people of Kazakhstan jointly with the Department for Religious Affairs of Astana city, the experts of the Hotline-114 of the Association of Religious Research Centers and representatives of state bodies held the second meeting with representatives of ethno-cultural associations of Astana.

The purpose of this event is to provide the public with information about destructive religious movements and the formation of public opinion about the need to confront religious extremism in all its manifestations.

The meeting was held in the format of a public reception on the prevention of religious extremism and terrorism.

A representative of the Department for Combating Extremism of the Department of Internal Affairs of Astana city conducted an explanatory conversation, and during the event, a video was shown to the participants aimed at forming a tolerant religious consciousness and immunity to a radical ideology in the society.

The decisive factor in countering terrorism and extremism is the creation of socio-political, economic and cultural conditions that contribute to the prevention of their manifestations on the territory of the country. Therefore, in solving this problem, it is necessary to use the entire range of opportunities available to the state and society.

At the meeting with representatives of ethno-cultural associations of the city of Astana, the most discussed topics of a religious nature were raised, the conversation was held in a question-and-answer format.

Within a month, three more meetings will be held with representatives of ethnocultural associations and youth wings of the capital.
