Representatives of the Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan in the city of Astana discussed the prevention of religious extremism and terrorism

The Secretariat of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in the city of Astana organized a number of meetings of ethno-cultural associations with experts from the Center for Religious Studies, the Association of Religious Research Centers and representatives of state bodies.

The defining factor in countering terrorism and extremism is the creation of socio-political, economic, cultural conditions that contribute to the prevention of their manifestations on the territory of the country. Therefore, in solving this problem, it is necessary to use the entire range of opportunities available to the state and society.

At the meeting with representatives of ethno-cultural associations of the city of Astana, the most discussed topics of a religious nature were raised, the conversation was held in a question-and-answer format.

The purpose of a series of meetings is to provide the public with information about destructive religious trends and the formation of public opinion about the need to confront religious extremism in all its manifestations.

Speakers noted that education in religious matters is necessary for all Kazakhstanis. During the meetings, the participants were shown thematic videos aimed at creating a tolerant religious consciousness in the society and immunity to a radical ideology.

Ethno-cultural associations are the most numerous public associations, and their leaders are responsible for every representative of their ethnos. Educational and explanatory work in collectives and families should be conducted constantly. This was noted both by speakers and lecturers.
