"Sabantuy" is a real pearl of the national spirit, a living inexhaustible spring of the original culture of the Tatar people, the state of its soul and a great opportunity for revealing talents.

In the park of culture and recreation of the city of Petropavlovsk Sabantuy began with a cheerful Tatar song. Malik Shigabutdinov - activist of the Tatar-Bashkir center "Duslyk" appeared before the audience on a fast horse, which symbolizes the freedom and independence of the Kazakh people. Solemnly the event was opened by the dance performed by the ensemble "Kuanyamin" of different peoples under the beloved Tatar music.

This is the most famous national holiday of the Tatars, which does not have an exact date of celebration, but is usually held between the last numbers of May and the end of June.

What is Sabantuy and what does it mean for the Tatars? This is truly a nation-wide entertainment and at the same time a sporting event, in which not only professional athletes take part, but also any volunteers, often from among numerous spectators. The Sabantuy festival is so beloved among the Tatars and among the representatives of other nationalities participating in this celebration.

To congratulate the citizens on this holiday, the head of the secretariat of the regional assembly of the people of Kazakhstan Nail Salimov, as well as the chairmen of the ethno-cultural centers of our assembly, appeared on the stage.

The saturated concert program pleased the audience with bright numbers: dances, songs performed by the best creative teams of the North Kazakhstan Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan and the city. Also, the soloists from Kazan and Kokchetav came to congratulate the Petropavlovsky guests as guests.

People's festivities were not without contests and sports. Children played tug of war, painted on asphalt and ran. Adults could compete in arm-wrestling, giri sport and battles with bags. Winners received valuable prizes.

Sabantuy is a festival of the unity of the people, of common joy and fun. On this day, Kazakhs, Russians, Ukrainians, Poles, Belarusians and many other nations of our country celebrated along with Tatars and Bashkirs, which repeatedly proves interethnic harmony and peace in our state.
