The Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan of the West Kazakhstan region together with the Assembly of Peoples of the Orenburg Region and the Center of History and Archeology of the West Kazakhstan Region with the ANO "Commonwealth of the Peoples of Eurasia" in the city of Uralsk held the International Conference "Cultural Heritage in the Russian-Kazakh Borderlands".

The following issues were discussed at the meeting:

• historical and sacral geography of steppe Eurasia as a field of intercultural interaction between Russia and Kazakhstan;
• monuments of common cultural heritage in the Russian-Kazakh border area;
• architectural monuments as symbols of the historical past of the South Ural and West Kazakhstan regions;
• problems of preservation and reconstruction of monuments of history and culture in the Russian-Kazakh border area;
• the use of the tourist potential of cultural objects in the Russian-Kazakh border.

Speakers were: Sdikov Murat Nauryzgaliyevich - honorary academician of the NAS of RK, doctor of historical sciences, professor, director of the center for History and archeology of the West Kazakhstan region.

On the topic: "The state, problems and perspectives of preserving the historical and cultural heritage in the Russian-Kazakh borderland (by the example of the Orenburg region") Kalinin Alexander Evgenievich - deputy Minister - head of the department for international cooperation of the ministry of culture and foreign relations of the Orenburg region, candidate of philosophical sciences

About the capital of the Bukeyev Ordi (Khan Ordas and Torgunkala), Aiybulat Shamuratovich Kurumbaev, - master of history, director of the private foundation "Fund for the Promotion of Scientific Research" from the city of Uralsk, who put forward a number of proposals for the preservation of sacred places in the border regions by the example of "Torgunkala" and simplification of access to ancient burial sites and monuments located on the territory of the Russian Federation.

On the role of civil society institutions in the preservation of cultural heritage made Itkuzov Zhanibek Murzabekovich - head of the Orenburg regional public organization "Association of Kazakhs Orenburg region".

The issues of history and historical places in the border regions were also touched upon, which aroused great interest among the gathered scientists. The participants decided that such meetings would be held annually.
