In Mangystau, every year, with great pleasure, events are held dedicated to the birthday of the great Kazakh poet, jeweler of the artistic word, philosopher-humanist, composer Abai Kunanbai. August 4, 2017 in the city's central library, which is located in the cultural and leisure complex named after Abay, KSU "Kokamdyk kelisim" of the akim of the region together with the youth "Zhasanat" of the Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan in Mangistau region held the "Summer Reading Room" dedicated to the birthday of the great Poet Abai Kunanbai.

The purpose of the event is to acquaint the youth with the poetry of Abai and encourage them to honor the memory of the great Kazakh poets, thereby educating the youths for a sense of patriotic spirit, high morality, and propaganda among children and adolescents for cultural and useful pastime in the summer.

The library staff presented a slide presentation, talked about the life and work of Abay, and our guest-head of the Belarusian ethno-cultural association Galina Huseynova read the edification and poems of the poet. And as was an excursion to the library.

Employees of KSU "Kokamdyk kelіsim" organized a quiz among the participants, asked questions about the biography of Abai Kunanbayev. Active participants who gave correct answers were given specially prepared gifts: baseball caps, T-shirts with the logo of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.

The event, which was organized with the aim of acquainting the young generation with the unforgettable poetry and wise sayings of the Great Poet, passed in one breath.
