On the 21-st of May, the Tatar ethno-cultural association "Bulgar" organized a celebration of the Tatar and Bashkir national holiday “Sabantuy”.

"Sabantuy" is a holiday of the end of spring field works. "But our “Sabantuy” is a holiday of friendship and unity," says Fandal Sahibgareev, chairman of the Tatar ethno-cultural association "Bulgar".

A lot of people came to the holiday, which took place in Akbota Park in Aktau. They watched the festive concert and national games. The people treated the Tatar dish “chak-chak”.

Also, people's artists of the Republic of Tatarstan - Ilsaf Safin and Lyaysan Basyrova were invited to the event. They performed with songs and congratulatory words.

Despite the fact that “Sabantuy” is a holiday of the Tatars and Bashkirs, many people of different nationalities came here. It pleasantly surprises me. During the holiday, was played a sports game - kuresh (wrestling). About 20 wrestlers took part in it. At the end of the festive concert, the winners of the 2-nd and 3-rd places were identified; they were awarded medals and cash prizes. And the winner, according to tradition, “Sabantuy” on his shoulders took the ram.
